Its... update time!

1. Product Design

Designer Will is working hard to finalise the design of the CYCLO:ONE. The lever-clip we mentioned a few updates ago (see image below), is now on the latest (3D printed) prototype and performing brilliantly. As we’d hoped, it provides a really ‘positive location’ between the two primary parts and avoids any lateral movement when the helmet’s in use or packed.

We are now working towards a 75mm height measurement when the CYCLO:ONE is packed, which is the perfect dimension to slot into a bag alongside your everyday other stuff.

2. Safety testing 

Our in-house test rig is now up and running and includes a marble Anvil. We have been putting some of our test ‘swatches’, competitor helmets and the CYCLO:ONE through their paces - we've  been astounded by how well the CYCLO:ONE is performing.

We tested for G-force readings passing through from the helmet to a ‘head-form’ on the rig and these are well inside the 250G permitted by the safety certifications.

We have taken delivery of our first moulded version of the CYCLO:ONE, which is the closest we've had to a market-ready product. After further testing on the internal test-rig, we anticipate making a few more refinements, before we can put the final version through external testing early in 2020 as we move towards those all important certifications.

3. Our Survey 

As some of you may have seen, we sent out a survey last week and over 270 of you responded. A big thank you to those who did, you have really helped us to understand why you pre-ordered your CYCLO:ONE. It shows that most of you are commuting by bike (or scooter) and that packability is the key motivator for pre-ordering.
