La nostra storia parte nel 2013 quando abbiamo creato la Onlus Di.Di.Diversamente Disabili per riportare in moto persone con disabilità. Sembrava una sfida impossibile eppure oggi è realtà. 

Così, ispirandoci alle storie della nostra comunità, abbiamo voluto risolvere un altro problema che coinvolge milioni di persone in tutto il mondo: riprogettare gli abiti in modo “differente”, con particolari soluzioni tecniche che li rendono facilmente indossabili da tutti, anche da chi, come noi, ha una disabilità fisica, permanente o temporanea. Un progetto di social entrepreneurship.

Up to now we’ve adapted. 
Now fashion adaps to us

Comfortable but too sporty or fashionable but annoying to wear. We didn’t have much choice. Until now.

Our story begins in 2013 when we created "Di.Di.Diversamente Disabili", a not-profit organisation to bring people with disabilities back to motorcycling. It looked like an impossible challenge and yet today is a reality.

Thus, inspired by the stories of our community, we wanted to solve another problem that involves millions of people all over the world: redesigning clothes in a "different" way, with specific technical solutions that make them easily wearable by everyone, even by whom, like us, have a physical, permanent or temporary, disability. A social entrepreneurship project.

Le barriere di cui nessuno parla

Quando si parla di barriere e accessibilità, tutti pensano alle scale, alla toilette, etc.

Ne abbiamo voluta eliminare un'altra, quotidiana, che ci ricorda ogni giorno - la mattina quando ci vestiamo e la sera quando ci spogliamo - che abbiamo una disabilità fisica: il pantalone che lascia scoperti i reni o troppo stretto per essere indossato o levato con semplicità, il bottone del polsino impossibile da chiudere in autonomia, la zip di una felpa che ci fa perdere tempo per allacciarla.

Le attuali proposte sul mercato ci costringono a compromessi: spesso dobbiamo comprare una taglia più abbondante, chiedere aiuto per vestirci, stare scomodi tutto il giorno.

Insomma, vorremmo rendere un gesto quotidiano, come la vestizione/svestizione, un gesto normale. Possiamo rendere tutto questo possibile, grazie al tuo aiuto!

The barriers nobody talks about

When it comes to barriers and accessibility, everyone thinks of stairs, toilets, etc.

We wanted to get rid of another, daily one, which reminds us every day - in the morning when we get dressed and in the evening when we undress - that we have a physical disability: trousers that leave the kidneys uncovered or too tight to be worn or removed with ease, the cuff button impossible to close independently, the zipper of a sweatshirt that makes us waste time to fasten it.

The current proposals on the market force us to compromise: we often have to buy a larger size, ask for help to get dressed, stay uncomfortable the whole day.

In short, we would like to make a daily gesture, such as dressing / undressing, a normal gesture. We can make all this possible, thanks to your help!

Le nostre soluzioni

 I nostri capi contengono molti dettagli tecnici:

• Camicie, Felpe, Cardigan, Denim Jacket e Trench utilizzano cerniere invisibili sugli avambracci, cerniere magnetiche e bottoni magnetici e/o automatici per facilitare chi ha difficoltà agli arti superiori;

• Pantaloni Jeans, Cargo, e Chino con chiusura lampo invisibile, dalla caviglia ai fianchi, che agevola la vestizione a chi ha problemi agli arti inferiori;

• Studiati per chi è in carrozzina: una Giacca Blazer con un taglio ad altezza seduta e maniche più corte; e un Pantalone Jeans con una vita più alta dietro, a coprire i reni, ed elasticizzata, per facilitarne la vestizione. Nessuna cucitura sulla seduta e cerniera anteriore più lunga.

Our solutions

Our clothing line contains a lot of technical features:

• Shirts, Sweatshirts, Cardigans, Denim jackets and Trench coats use invisible zippers on the forearms, magnetic zippers and magnetic and / or automatic buttons to facilitate those with upper limbs difficulties;

• ​Jeans trousers, Cargo, and Chino with invisible zipper, from the ankle to the hips, which facilitates dressing for those with lower limb problems;

Designed for wheelchair users: a Blazer jacket with a seat-height cut and shorter sleeves; and Jeans Trousers with a higher waist at the back, to cover the kidneys area, and stretchable, to make it easier to put on. No seams on sitting in the back and extended front fly zipper.

In cosa ci differenziamo rispetto ad altri brand che si occupano di adaptive fashion? Che ogni capo è stato pensato non PER persone con disabilità, ma DA persone con disabilità...per tutti!

Una linea di abbigliamento che può essere indossata da tutti - anche da chi non ha una disabilità -, in totale autonomia, che tiene conto delle diverse esigenze fisiche.
Confortevole...e cool!

Abbiamo realizzato la nostra prima capsule coinvolgendo i migliori in Italia: l’eco-designer Tiziano Guardini che ha disegnato tutti i capi; una casa di moda di Firenze per la creazione dei prototipi e la fornitura dei tessuti (sono di archivio, provengono da magazzini di grandi brand italiani a cui abbiamo dato nuova vita, perché anche la sostenibilità è importante); la nostra community per testarli.

Our Collection 

How do we differ from other brands that deal with adaptive fashion? That each item has been designed not FOR people with disabilities, but BY people with disabilities... for everyone!

A clothing line which can be worn by everyone - even by those without a disability - in total autonomy, which takes into account their different physical needs. Comfortable ... and cool!

We created our first capsule collection by involving the best in Italy: the eco-designer Tiziano Guardini who designed all the items; a fashion house in Florence for the creation of prototypes and the supply of fabrics (they are archived, they come from the warehouses of large Italian brands to which we have given new life, because sustainability is also important); our community to test them.

Come ci puoi aiutare

Acquista i nostri capi! Possono essere indossati da tutti, disabili e non! (eccetto quelli per chi è in carrozzina che sono studiati per chi è sempre seduto). Quindi, anche se non hai un problema fisico ma vuoi supportare il progetto, acquista il capo che più ti piace, lo indosserai perfettamente!

E ricorda, tutti i nostri capi sono green e made in Italy: dallo studio alla produzione!

Abbiamo impiegato 2 anni di lavoro e fatto un investimento di circa €35.000 per realizzare i disegni, creare i cartamodelli, sviluppare le taglie, produrre i primi campioni, sdifettarli. Li abbiamo testati e acquistato i tessuti per andare in produzione, realizzato lo shooting fotografico, il sito e i video...insomma...abbiamo tutto pronto perché ci crediamo! Ora ci serve il tuo aiuto per partire.

Crediamo nel potere delle comunità. La nostra è di circa 800 ragazzi disabili e ci ha ispirato per la creazione di questa prima capsule: contiamo sulla comunità di Indiegogo per farla diventare realtà!

L'obiettivo della campagna è raccogliere € 50.000 per avviare la produzione. E continuare lo studio e lo sviluppo di una seconda collezione, anche per il pubblico femminile.

Tempistiche:

Vogliamo essere trasparenti: è la nostra prima campagna e siamo certi che incontreremo qualche difficoltà nel percorso che ci rallenterà. Per questo preferiamo prenderci qualche settimana in più e non deludere le tue aspettative.

Il nostro intento è di avviare la produzione a dicembre 2022 e iniziare a spedire a inizio gennaio 2023.  In qualsiasi caso ti aggiorneremo costantemente sul nostro lavoro.

How you can help us

Buy our items! They can be worn by everyone, disabled or not! (except those for those in wheelchairs which are specifically designed for those who are always seated). So, even if you don't have a physical problem but want to support the project, buy the items you like the most, you will wear it perfectly!

And remember, all our items are green and made in Italy: from study to production!

We took 2 years of work and made an investment of about € 35,000 to make the designs, create the patterns, develop the sizes, produce the first samples, and mend them. We tested them and bought the fabrics to go into production phase, created the photo shooting, the website and the videos... well... we have everything ready because we believe in it! Now we need your help to get started.

We believe in the power of communities. Ours is about 800 disabled guys and it inspired us to create this first capsule collection: we count on the Indiegogo community to make it come true!

The goal of the campaign is to raise € 50,000 to start production. And continue the study and development of a second collection, also for the female audience.

Timing:

We want to be transparent: this is our first campaign and we are sure that we will encounter some difficulties along the way that will slow us down. This is why we prefer to take a few more weeks and not disappoint your expectations.

Our intent is to start production in December 2022 and start shipping at the start of January 2023. In any case, we will constantly update you on our work.

In recent years, thanks to the support of companies and donations, we have managed to make paralympic motorcycling a reality, with the aim of offering new awareness and self-esteem to those with disabilities. It was a tough challenge, but we succeeded.

Chi siamo

D-Different nasce dalla nostra esperienza con Di.Di. Diversamente Disabili, la prima associazione in Italia che si è occupata di (ri)avvicinare al mondo delle due ruote i ragazzi con una disabilità fisica, la prima al mondo ad aver promosso il motociclismo paralimpico come disciplina sportiva. Abbiamo rimesso in sella più di 450 ragazzi, organizzato gare nazionali e internazionali, anche all'interno della MotoGP e World Superbike che hanno coinvolto più di 180 piloti e 12 nazioni.

Pensi sia stato facile dimostrare che anche con una disabilità si può guidare in sicurezza una moto? Affatto. Ma non ci siamo arresi.

Volevamo guidare la moto, l'abbiamo adattata alle nostre esigenze.
​Volevamo vestirci alla moda, abbiamo creato una linea di abbigliamento fashion e comoda.

Siamo determinati a realizzare i nostri sogni, a perseguire le nostre passioni e le nostre esigenze. Insomma, ci piace essere protagonisti della nostra vita e non stare in finestra a guardare. 

E' questo che ci ha stimolato alla creazione del brand D-Different.

Who we are 

D-Different was born from our experience with Di.Di. Diversamente Disabili, the first organisation in Italy that dealt with (re) bringing guys with a physical disability closer to the two wheels, the first in the world to have promoted paralympic motorcycling as a sport discipline. We put more than 450 guys back on the saddle, organised national and international races, even within the MotoGP and World Superbike which have involved more than 180 riders and 12 countries.

Do you think it was easy to prove that even with a disability it is possible to safely ride a motorbike?  At all. But we haven’t given up.

We wanted to ride the motorbike, so we adapted it to our needs. We wanted to dress fashionably, so we created a comfortable and fashionable clothing line.

We are determined to make our dreams come true, to pursue our passions and our needs. In short, we like to be the protagonists of our life and not stand at the window and watch.

This is what prompted us to create the D-Different brand.
