Short Summary
- Hi everyone! We are Dead Honey. A female fronted alternative rock band from Edmonton Alberta.
- We are currently raising money to record and distribute an EP containing two or three of our songs. We have been raising money through shows and merch sales. However, this campaign will give us a push in the right direction and allow us to record as soon as possible. This will allow us to distribute our music globally and broaden our musical reach to those you would not otherwise be able to hear it. We have spent the last year writing and we cannot wait to show the world what Dead Honey is capable of.
- Any donation that we get is a direct investment in our band. By recording sooner rather than later, we can give ourselves the boost that we need to bring our music to the next level.
What We Need & What You Get
Dead Honey requires an investment from our backers to allow us to record our debut album. We have raised some money through merch sales and shows and plan to pay out of pocket as much as needed. However, we want to get this music into your hands as soon as possible.
Recording each song costs around $1500CAD. This does not account for travel, time, equipment, etc. The amount that we raise will determine how many songs we can record. Ideally, we would like to record a full album with eight songs.

Even if we don't reach full funding, we will reward each supporter.
The Impact
In the span of a year, Dead Honey has been able to reach a large number of people. We began marketing from an early point in our band's career. This has allowed us to build up the momentum that we need to launch this EP and have it open to as large of an audience as possible. By releasing this EP, we will be able to begin sending our music to both radio stations and labels. Most importantly, we will be able to connect our far away fans with our music. These contributions will allow us to push forward to the next level with our music.
In January 2016, we were awarded Best New Band, Band to Watch, and Best Band by YEG Music Magazine. This has shown us that not only do our fans believe in us, so does the local scene. This album would allow us to reach out to a larger audience.
Risks & Challenges
Our only challenge will be time. However we are fully dedicated to getting into the studio as soon as possible and of course, getting all of the rewards out in a timely manner.
