Desperate Souls is released, we had 7 full days of filming which ended on February 12. You can watch the film on Amazon Prime Video. We achieved 70% of our first campaign's $10,000 goal, which we are very grateful for. S.J. Hermann (our director and writer Steve Hermann), author of Morium, Trepidity, Splintered Love and many other books (see https://www.amazon.com/S.J.-Hermann/e/B00NX8B6RM) is now on his fourth book-to-film adaptation. Taking a 34 page erotic short story and turning it into a feature length horror / romance film wasn’t too difficult. He has taken the essence of what the story is about, two souls seeking meaning to their lives, and filled any gaps with intense horror. This is a film that is far different than what he has done before, but with the talent that has been assembled for this film, it is truly an amazing film.

Desperate Souls required special effects to bring Moira to life in her demon form as a succubus. Custom prosthetics include wings, horns, and special effects makeup for wounds and aging as the succubus draws energy from men during intercourse. An intimacy coordinator choreographed scenes with sexual activity. The film does not include nudity but instead portrays realistic intimacy. Our Director of Photography brought decades of experience to this film and has created many beautiful shots which we are anxious to share with you.

Themes in this provocative film include depression, seduction, demons, and of course death.

We have surpassed our initial goal of $1,500 to cover post production costs - thanks so much. It's time for a stretch goal of $3,000 thanks to the generosity of our contributors.

Finishing funds campaign proceeds are used for marketing the film including film festival submissions and distribution submissions. Our distribution goal is to have the movie available on as many streaming platforms as possible in addition to DVD and Blu-Ray physical media. A lot of work remains, but we are dedicated to these goals regardless of the amount of money raised in this finishing funds campaign.
