This project is funded!
Thanks to all of you who participated, shared it and talked about it. You made Devlok reach another cluster within the Hyperhedron. Keep updated, it's just the begining...
The comic
This is the beginning of an adventure in the "Hyperhedron", a universe whose structure is made of nano-machines, where pseudo-gravity and non-definable temporal sectors act as physical laws. After the unexpected crash of his shuttle, "Devlok" is taken away by cybernetic creatures and brought into the biomechanical depths of the poly-teflo-carbon giga-tubes, where humans seem to have no place anymore...
The book
"Devlok, the Techno-Templar", that's:
- 56 pages featuring the first two chapters of Devlok (20 color pages) + two other short stories ("Obekna", 6 color pages and "Controlled Transgression", 4 B&W pages) + extra pages of sketches, works in progress and full illustrations.
- 200gr. paper, matt.
- A4 format (21x29,7cm - 8,3x11,7 inch).
- Soft cover, 300gr., shiny.
Here's a flick through the (French) book:
And pictures
Note: Enclosed in this (hopefully) forthcoming English edition is a first story of "Devlok", that has an end. Following the succes of the French crowdfunding and the demands of the readers, I added 8 extra pages that are now the continuation of Devlok's adventures!
Behind the curtain
Every original artboard of Devlok is around 30x40cm (11,8 x 15,8 inch). Entirely hand-made with watercolor, acrylic and ink.
The little story
In april of this year, I printed the first 100 copies and surprisingly, they were sold out in less than a week!
So I made a crowdfunding for a French version that also surpassed all expectations.
Check it here: https://fr.ulule.com/techno-templier/
Today, as there are still people interested in the English version, I decided to make this page.
The project
By participating in this project, you'll help me to continue to make comics but above all of course, it is about the opportunity to get the signed book directly to your house door. Plus all the extras that can come with it: Dedications, Ex-Libris, Illustrated bookmarks, Posters, Special editions and Original illustrations!
The point is to print 100 books including a minimum of 60 preorders, the rest will go for promotion and extra sales.
Please note that, except in a few European conventions or in the case of an eventual re-press, this book might be difficult to get elsewhere than through this campaign.
The costs
To print 100 books costs approximatively 400€.
Shipping fees are around 250€.
Perks around 250€ not including original drawings. 5% of the final raised amount will also be deducted for Indiegogo and around 3% for paypal. The rest would cover a part of my creation costs.
Because printing a bunch of books without being sure they go is a financial risk I cannot take, this is a fixed funding campaign. If the goal is not reached, everyone will be refunded and this edition will not be printed, but ... it would be sad, no?
The perks
Please, read carefully what exactly is included in the perks. As some of them are including a donation, they might offer less according to their price.
- Eternal thanks: Your name will be listed in the thanks section of the book and in the website, for ever! (In every of my Devlok's autoproductions).
- The book: Like indicated upper, it's 56 pages, 21x30cm / 8,3x11,7 inch format, 200gr Paper and 300gr. soft cover.
- Dedication: Small color drawing in the book, signed.
- Ex-Libris (Bookplate): Small sheet of nice paper with a thick ink stamped Devlok. Signed.
- Poster A3: (42x30cm - 16,5x11,8 inch) 300gr. Paper. Signed (It will not be possible to choose, probably it'll be this one)
- Poster A2: 200gr. Paper. Signed. (No picture available yet)
- Printed Bookmark (7x25cm / 2,7x9,8 inch). Signed. (No picture available yet)
- Illustrated Bookmark (7x25cm / 2,7x9,8 inch). Yes, it's a real original illustration. And it's Signed of course.
*Obviously bookmarks with original illustrations are all different, this one is an example commissioned by a fan.
Notes:
*Every perk include shipping costs wordwide.
*I will probably make a new cover for the book.
*There might be small differences between the pictures and the final product.
You can't participate?
Legit! Still, talking and sharing this page with your friends will make you earn some extra Karma points!
Also, keep an eye on Haedre Fb's page, I will probably launch a contest to win free copies!
The author
I was born in the french part of Belgium in 81. Very early, masters of science fiction like Giger, Moebius, Druillet, Otomo, Shirow, Nihei and many many more influenced me a lot. Later, I also produced electronic music which somehow converged perfectly towards my obsessions of machines and cables. And because I am connected to this field, I did a bunch of commissionned illustrations for technoish records.
Today, I live in Berlin, Germany.
