Overview
A spunky, young waitress gets through her boring, monotonous life with a pair of headphones and her music, but when that isn’t enough, she begins to lose her mind and quite possibly her grip on reality.

In 1979, a twenty-something year old waitress finds herself overwhelmed by nagging customers and an overbearing boss. Her only solace is her Walkman, loaded with her favorite tunes, with which she dances around the diner and her problems. But one day, these problems become too much, and she reaches her breaking point. As she begins to let lose, she too begins to lose her sense of reality, perceiving herself as gaining superpower-like abilities in musical form. How much of this is real, and how much is in her head?

Dine ’n Dance captures a feeling that everyone can relate to; the struggle of making it through the day in a dead-end job. We all fantasize through monotony, but at what point does fantasy become too much, and at what point should we act on our fantasies? This film is a story about a girl who’s waiting for something to inspire her, until she realizes all the inspiration she needs has been inside her the whole time - maybe it’s the power of music?

We need money in order to make this movie happen. While cast and crew are operating on a volunteer base, we need to pay for our camera, equipment, lighting, locations, permits, and production design among other aspects. And seeing as our cast and crew is generous enough to give us their time for free, the least we can do is make sure their bellies are full of good food everyday. We've budgeted our total expenditures on this film to come out to $4000. Every dollar we raise, both in our goal and possibly over, will go towards making this film the best possible film it can be for both us and you.

Everyone on this crew is an artist committed to their craft and with years of experience in their chosen field. Your donation goes towards helping young artists do what they were born to do. And in addition to the satisfaction of having helped an independent film crew launch an entirely original short film, we are also offering all our donors a robust perks package:

For donors of $10 and over, YOUR name gets to be in the credits of the film under the special thanks category!

For donors of $25 and over, you'll get a digital copy of the film emailed to you upon completion! So you can personally see the art that your donation helped make.

For donors of $75 and over, you'll get exclusive access to our Behind-The-Scenes portal, where videos and photos from the set will be uploaded alongside blooper content!

For donors of $150 and over, an exclusive 11" x 17" copy of the main poster for the film will be mailed personally to you, to be proudly hung as a sign of your contribution!

For donors of $300 and over, things get fun! We will mail you an old school cassette tape of the film's soundtrack! Better dust off your old Walkman and get ready to groove!

For donors of $1000 and over, it's your name that will be in the spotlights with an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER credit! Show off to all your friends now that you're Hollywood Royalty.

While all of us are experienced and prepared for this project, it will still be the most extensive production many of us have worked on, and this thereby comes with inherent learning curves. The world of film is one fraught with unexpected challenges and difficulties. Dine 'N Dance brings it's own difficulties due to the heavy musical elements, requiring original composition and intensive choreography. It will be on us to rise to the challenge and properly plan this production to flow smoothly and efficiently, but we have absolute confidence in the entire cast and crew to rise to this challenge.

If you are unable to donate to our production, we still encourage you to follow along with the IndieGoGo and project, as well as Like us on Facebook. We will be posting fun content from pre-production including more cast and crew interviews and concept art for the film.

Additionally, we can't make this film without everyone's help in sharing our production around! We encourage you to tell your friends about our project, post our IndieGoGo on your social media, and contact us if you have any questions! We want to share this film with as many people as possible!
