Acabou o Amor…is a documentary film project that tells the story of the 2013 June protests in Brasil, from a viewpoint of the participants of the Gezi Resistance in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2013, while we were reclaiming common spaces and starting to act in accordance with our dreams in Gezi Park in Turkey, people in Brazil were also protesting to claim back their streets, squares and cities. Acabou o Amor… the documentary’s title is taken from a slogan often heard during the Brazilian protests and became the initial source of inspiration for our project. While protestors were chanting ”Acabou o amor, isso aqui vai virar a Turquia!” (Love is over, soon this will turn into Turkey!) a straight line was being drawn between these two countries by the protestors.

While we were struggling for retaking the commons and for our freedom in Turkey in June 2013, people were demonstrating in the streets in Brazil with the similar demands. Acabou o Amor… inspired by the slogans of the people in Brazil chanting "Love is over, it will becomeTurkey here!"
We believe that there is a relationship between the political movements in Tunisia, Wall Street, Spain or Tahrir continuing since 2011 and the ones experienced in the countries of Brazil and Turkey in the summer of 2013. We aim to show the relationship between these various countries by focusing on the experiences of the activists in Brazil. In this way, we expect to learn from each others' experiences for our struggle for a better world.
Remembering our experience at Gezi, we still keep our excitement in our hearts and keep on searching for a better world and making this possibility a common issue. We invite you to share our excitement and help us to realize our project.

Who we are?
Our documentary team consist of ametour, semi-professional and professional film makers.
Producer and director of our film is Mert Kaya. He studies Political Science at Boğaziçi University. He has lived in Brasil for a year, and has relations with different activist groups and film makers. While a voluntary group is helping for shooting, sharing ideas with political activists and academicians helps to create the background of the film and circulating experiences of politics for creating a better world, in order to make use of these experiences in Turkey (which is one of the basic aims of the film project)
Umut Kocagöz is the consultor and editor of the film. He has experiences in different documentary and video projects. His consulting is on both technical and theoretical areas. He is a graduate student at the philosohy department of Bilgi University, Istanbul.
Ian Okomato is the co-producer of the film. He studies at the International Film Academy in Sao Poalo, Brasil. He contributes both technical issues and formingt the shooting team.
One of the consultants of our documentary is Can Candan who is a
professor in Boğaziçi University and director of many documentaries (Boycott Coke, Exodus,
Duvarlar, 3 Saat, Benim Çocuğum). While contributing to our documentary with
his ideas he also holds an important place in the documentary making process
due to his experiences.
The other consultant of our documentary is Fikret Adaman who is
a professor in Boğaziçi University studying the fields of history of economic
thought, political economy of social policies and environmental economics.
Since the idea of the documentary came up he has made contributions to the
development of the documentary and he holds an important place due to his ideas
which bring in new perspectives.
About the Film
Our basic aim is to make this documentary as a collective product. Thus, we upgrade our web site and share our shooting process, experiences and what we learn from this process regularly.

Documentary consists of interviews with the people who experienced the protests in Brasil. Moreover, we uses archive images from the protests in order to enrich the film.
Interviews are held in Portugese, and there will be English and Turkish subtitle options.

A section consisting of the interviews held with academicians will be added to DVD of the film in order to give more detailed information about the process.
All the material that has been gathered will be shared via a web site after the film process will be finished.
Budget
Estimated budget for thid documentary project is 20.000$. This budget consist of pre-production, production and post-production process. We have spend more at least 5.000$ from our own. With some support of equipment, with the help of a voluntary shooting team and technical support, now we are in the production process.
As you can see, we are in need of your support in order to complete our project! We need 10.000$ for inscription, translation, gathering archive videos, editing team, copy/write of the film and presentations. That is the post-production process.

Acabou o Amor…Brezilya’da 2013 Haziran’ında yaşanan protestoları Gezi direnişini deneyimlemiş bir gözden anlatacak belgesel projesidir.

2013’ün Haziran’ında Türkiye’de ortak olanı geri almak ve özgürlüklerimiz için mücadele etmeye başladığımız günlerde, Brezilya’da da insanlar benzer taleplerle sokağa çıkıyorlardı. Acabou o Amor… bizim bu projeyi hayal bile edemediğimiz o günlerde, Brezilya’daki insanların ‘’Aşk bitti, bundan sonra burası Türkiye olacak!’’ çığlıklarından doğdu.
2011’den beri Tunus’tan Wall Street’e, İspanya’dan Tahrir’e meydana gelmekte olan eylemlerle Haziran 2013’te iki ülkede yaşadıklarımız arasında bir bağ olduğunu düşünüyoruz. Bu belgeselde Brezilya’da eylemlere katılmış insanların kişisel deneyimlerine odaklanarak Türkiye’de ve diğer ülkelerde yaşana gelen eylemlerle arasındaki bağı ortaya çıkartmaya ve yeni bir dünya kurma yolunda birbirimizden öğrenmeye çalışacağız.
Gezi Pakı’ndaki deneyimlerimizi hatırda tutarak, daha iyi bir dünyayı kurma yollarını aramanın ve bu arayışta ortaklaşabilme ihtimallerinin heyecanını kalbimizde taşıyoruz. Sizleri de bu heyecanı paylaşmaya, belgesel projemizi gerçekleştirmek için bize yardımcı olmaya çağırıyoruz.

Biz Kimiz?
Belgesel ekibimiz amatör, yarı-profesyonel ve profesyonel sinemacılardan oluşuyor.
Filmimizin yönetmeni Mert Kaya, Boğaziçi Üniversite Siyaset Bilimi öğrencisi. Daha önce Brezilya’da yaşadığı bir yıllık süreçte oradaki aktivist ve sinemacı çevrelerle ilişkilerinin yardımıyla Brezilya’da filmin çekimlerini gerçekleştiriyor. Brezilya’da gönüllü bir çekim ekibinin yardımıyla çekimler yapılırken aktivist ve akademisyenlerle yapılan fikir alışverişleri de hem filmin çatısını oluşturmada hem de (temel amacımız olan) Türkiye’de yaptığımız/yapacağımız politika adına önemli bir birikim sağlıyor.
Filmimizin yapımcılığını yapan Umut Kocagöz Bilgi Üniversitesi Felsefe ve Toplumsal Düşünce Bölümü yüksek lisans öğrencisi. Filme dair teknik ve fikirsel destek sağlıyor.
Filmimizin ortak yapımcısı Ian Okamoto Uluslararası Sinema Akademisi (São Paulo, Brezilya) Sinema Bölümü öğrencisi. Brezilya’daki teknik konularda yönetmenimize destek olurken, çekim ekibinin oluşturulmasını da sağlıyor
Filmimizin danışmanlarından biri Boğaziçi Üniversitesi öğretim üyesi ve pek çok belgesel filmin (Boycott Coke, Exodus, Duvarlar, 3 Saat, Benim Çocuğum) yönetmenliğini yapmış olan Can Candan. Belgeselimize fikirsel anlamda katkıda bulunurken, deneyimleriyle de belgesel sürecinde önemli bir rol oynuyor.

iktisadı konularında çalışmalar yapan Fikret Adaman. Belgesel sürecinin başından beri fikirleriyle geliştirici bir rol üstlenirken aynı zamanda alternatif bir bakış geliştirmede önemli katkılar sağlamakta.

Belgesel Brezilya’da eylemleri deneyimlemiş insanlarla yapılan röportajlar üzerinden ilerleyecek. Aynı zamanda Brezilya’da ve Türkiye’de yaşanan eylemlerden arşiv görüntüleriyle zenginleştirilecek.
Röportajlar Portekizce gerçekleştirilmektedir. Filmde de Türkçe ve İngilizce altyazı seçenekleri sunulacak.
Aynı zamanda Brezilya’da akademisyenlerle gerçekleştirilen görüşmeler ‘’Meraklısına Notlar’’ olarak filmin DVD’sinde sunulacak.
Ayrıca film sürecinin sonunda bir internet sitesi aracılığıyla süreç boyunca elde edilen materyaller paylaşıma sunulacak.

Bütçe
Bu belgeselin tahmini bütçesi 20.000 Dolar’dır. Bu maliyet yapım öncesi, yapım ve yapım sonrası süreçleri içermektedir. Bu zamana kadar yapım öncesi ve yapım sürecinin bir kısmında cebimizden 5.000 Dolar harcamış bulunmaktayız. Aynı zamanda yapım süreci için ekipman, çekim ekibi gibi teknik destekler ve konaklama konusundaki destekler sayesinde yapım aşamasına geçmiş bulunuyoruz.

"Acabou o Amor é um projeto de documentário sobre os protestos de junho de 2013 no Brasil, sob o olhar de quem vivenciou a resistência de Gezi, na Turquia.

Enquanto nós começavamos a agir de acordo com nossos sonhos no Parque Gezi na Turquia, as pessoas no Brasil reclamavam por seu espaço no transporte público, nas ruas, bairros e cidades, gritando "Acabou o Amor, isso aqui vai virar a Turquia!". E essa foi a linha de inspiração e aproximação inicial, para esse projeto, entre esses dois países.
Enquanto nós estavamos batalhando para retomar o bom senso e a nossa liberdade na Turquia, em Junho de 2013 os brasileiros demonstravam nas ruas a similaridade de nossas demandas. O amor tinha acabado... E, inspirado nas palavras de ordem do Brasil, os turcos cantaram "Acabou o amor... Isso aqui vai mesmo virar a Turquia!".
Acreditamos haver uma relação entre os movimentos políticos da Tunísia, Wall Street, Espanha e até mesmo Tahirir, ocorridos em 2011, e que dialogam com as ditas jornadas de Junho desses dois países.
Neste documentário, enquanto focamos nas experiências pessoais vividas em manifestações brasileiras, mostraremos conexões entre o Brasil e a Turquia. Desse modo, esperamos aprender uns com os outros no caminho e na luta por um mundo melhor.
Tendo em mente a resistência vivida em Gezi, e no coração o desejo por um mundo novo e melhor, nós te convidamos a compartilhar nossa vontade e nos ajudar na finalização desse projeto.

Quem somos?
Nossa equipe é formada por amadores e profissionais da área.
O diretor do nosso filme é Mert Kaya, estudante do curso de Ciências Políticas na universidade de Boğaziçi. Com ajuda de ativistas e cineastas que conheceu em seu ano de vivência no Brasil, está realizando as gravações em São Paulo. Com uma equipe voluntária, filmamos e trocamos ideias com ativistas e acadêmicos para construir a base do documentário, bem como para buscar ideias para ajudar nossa luta na Turquia.
O editor e consultor de nosso filme, Umut Kocagöz, é mestrando de filosofia na universidade de Bilgi. Umut Kocagöz proporciona embasamento e consultoria técnica e intelectual.
O co-produtor, Ian Okamoto, é estudante de cinema e trabalha com produção executiva em São Paulo, ele colabora com a parte de equipamentos e com a equipe técnica nas gravações no Brasil.
Dentre nossos consultores, há Can Candan, professor da Universidade Boğaziçi e documentarista de renome. Entre suas produções estão "Boycott Coke", "Exodus", "Duvarlar", "3 Saat", "Benim Çocuğum", entre outros. Can Candan nos auxília com sua inspiração e ao mesmo tempo com suas ideias, frutos de sua experiência.
Nosso outro consultor é Fikret Adaman, economista com estudos sobre historia de pensamento econômico, política econômica de políticas sociais, economia ambiental e também professor professor da Universidade Boğaziçi. Desde a concepção do filme, suas ideias desempenham um papel fundamental.

“Acabou o Amor” vai contar com relatos de pessoas que experienciaram as manifestações em junho de 2013 no Brasil. Ao mesmo tempo, usaremos imagens e vídeos das manifestações dos dois países.

As reportagens vão ser feitas em português, e o documentário terá legendas em inglês e em turco. As reportagens feitas com acadêmicos serão colocadas no DVD do filme, como um opção ‘’Pra quem se interessar mais...’’
Orçamento
O orçamento total do documentário é de 20.000 dólares. Esse valor contempla toda a pré-produção, a produção e a pós-produção.
Até o momento, com a pré-produção e a produção, gastamos $5.000 de nossos bolsos. Além disso, para começarmos a filmar, conseguimos apoio com equipamento e equipe técnica voluntária.
Como vocês podem perceber, precisamos de sua ajuda. Só no processo de pós-produção, para transcrição, tradução, arquivos de imagem, montagem e edição precisamos de $10.000.
Para conseguirmos realizar esse documentário, nós pedimos sua colaboração!
