           How does it work? It's amazingly simple...

Put your clothes in waterproof container, add water, detergent and Dolfi. Switch the device on and enjoy your free time!

 

The device will glow blue as it softly cleans your clothes. Blue light indicates ultrasound vibrations in the water. It works like magic!

After only 30-40 min, your clothes will be fresh and clean. Rinse them and hang to dry – you can wear your favorites again the next morning!

Dolfi is silent when working, so you wash during late hours without disturbing even the lightest of sleepers.

 

Need to run out the door while Dolfi’s working?– No worries. It’s completely safe to leave the Dolfi on past the standard cycle. In fact, doing so can even improve the washing results.

Help! What if I forgot to pay for shipping?

No problem. If you're outside the US and forgot to pay your shipping, simply order the International Shipping perk. Just make sure to enter the same personal information you provided with your initial order. We will do the matching ourselves at the end of the campaign.

 

Am I supposed to manually add shipping if I'm not in the US?

Yes, you have to add shipping on top of your selected perk. When you pledge, add the shipping amount indicated in your perk as an "additional gift" or simply order the International Shipping perk with the same personal information.

 

How much laundry can I wash in one load?

We recommend washing about 1-2kg of laundry. It should float freely in the water during the washing cycle.

 

Have you tested it, will it really work?
 

It does sound a little like magic… Ultrasonic cleaning has been around for decades already and it's successfully applied for cleaning of wide range of items from surgical instruments up to watches, jewelry and automotive parts. The engineers from MPI Ultrasonics applied their over 25 years of experience in order to come up with Dolfi's technological solution for textiles. For many months they were developing, testing, and improving the performance of device until our lab prototype achieved the desired results. Our latest units demonstrate impressive performances in the laboratory tests.

 

I am concerned about putting a plug-in device in the water… Isn’t that dangerous?

Not more dangerous than jumping into a swimming pool, nicely lightened with high voltage bulbs. Dolfi is developed in compliance with highest international standards on electric devices operating in water. We will certify Dolfi in accordance to region specific safety requirements: UL for US and Canada; CE for Europe; PSE for Japan; CCC for China etc. We’ll also complete an IPX68 (water submersion) test for Dolfi before shipping it to customers.

 

Can Dolfi replace my automatic washing machine?

No. Dolfi is not a full cycle washing machine, it does only the washing part. It will also not be effective for big loads of laundry and for voluminous pieces such as bed linen, towels, jeans etc. Dolfi will rather complement your washing machine to deal with small volumes of delicate items that require a sensitive wash and can be ruined in the machine.

 

How about the smell, will Dolfi refresh my clothes or just clean them?

The washing process with Dolfi efficiently removes dirt and odors. You clothes will be ultrafresh after ultrasonic cleaning.

 

Do I need a detergent to wash with Dolfi?

Yes, you do. Over the last decades there were several attempts to develop ultrasonic washers which work without the detergent, but with Dolfi we didn't take this path. It might be the next challenge for our engineers.

 

What kind of detergent is recommended to wash with Dolfi?

You can use any type of washing detergent available on the market. It doesn't matter if it's a liquid or powder. The better the quality of detergent, the better the results of washing.

 

What's about rinsing and drying?

Dolfi performs only the washing part, you'll have to rinse and dry manually. Careful approach to drying also prolongs the life of your delicates. Your silk, lingerie, and knits will surely look much better if you carefully hang them, rather than heat them up with the hot air in the dryer.

 

I don’t mind doing hand wash. What can Dolfi do for me?

Dolfi has no mechanical impact on your washing. Rubbing your clothes between your hands can damage the structure or even rip the fabric. If you wash with Dolfi, your clothing will not wear out  during the washing process.

 

Can I use it with 110V or is it 220V only?

Dolfi was designed for travelers. You can use it with any power supply from around the world.

 

Will it discolor my clothes?

No. Dolfi preserves your clothes’ color. Just make sure not to use color aggressive detergent.

 

What else do I need to make Dolfi work?

You only need a waterproof container (or even a plastic bag), a small amount of detergent, a power source, and of course, your Dolfi device.

 

What is the difference between Dolfi and a washing machine in regards to the quality of washing?

Dolfi cleans your clothes gently, rather than banging them against the drum walls. The microscopic cavitation bubbles are also capable of reaching micro capillary fibers of fabric which is impossible to do with washing machines. The washing results are about the same, but Dolfi treats your clothing much more carefully.

 

What is ultrasonic technology?

Ultrasound is an oscillating sound pressure wave with a frequency greater than the limits of human hearing range. But even though we can't hear it, those sound waves are very powerful, think of dolphins communicating with one another from miles away. Specific frequency ultrasound waves in the water trigger a process called, cavitation.

 

Does ultrasonic cleaning work for textiles?

Ultrasonic technology is widely used for precise cleaning in industry and medicine – watches, jewelry, surgical instruments, medical implants, automotive parts and much more. High frequency waves perform superbly on hard materials and complete the cleaning process with remarkable results within just few minutes . But it's a difference for textile and other soft materials. In order to achieve good cleaning results on textiles, the wave frequency has to be modulated differently and the cleaning time extended. However, despite the challenges, ultrasonic cleaning for textile has been applied with standard size washing machines by companies such Sanyo and Sharp more than a decade ago. Another kind of ultrasonic textile cleaning has been developed for industrial applications by the German company, Sonotronic. The recent scientific research from Japan proves the efficiency of ultrasound cleaning on textiles.
