Short Summary
My name is Michael Thomas, I am a student filmmaker.
As part of my honours graduate thesis, I am required to make a short film based on my thesis topic- in this case, Horror/Grindhouse/Exploitation Cinema
What We Need & What You Get
The money made from this campaign will be going to the production of 'Don't Go Into The Basement'- things such as props, costuming, special effects even down to simple food for the talent to eat on set! All funds will be going to making this film an incredible, fun and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
For rewards, we have set up a few different perks, ranging from a name drop in the credits of the film, to being credited as an executive producer, even posters, T-shirts and an invitation to the screening of the film!
The Impact
This project is an important step in the research of not just exploitation cinema, but cinema overall. Funding this project also means that you will be funding further research into this art-form, and giving people the freedom to create their original ideas.
This is not my first short film, in 2016 I wrote/directed a short film named KYLE which was selected for screening at over 20 different film festivals around the world, ranging from places such as Los Angeles, New York, even Egypt and India, and of course its home country, Australia.
KYLE (2016) can be viewed at the link below for your enjoyment.

Risks & Challenges
The challenges with this film are no different to the challenges presented on a normal film set, in essence this means that on all film sets there is a chance things will not go to plan depending on many variables, and compromises may have to be made. In this case, even if that were to happen, funding this project is still supporting the exploration of cinema, and also supporting new research and ideas.
Other Ways You Can Help
I understand not everyone is in a position to back this project,
however, we still urge you to spread the word to others! especially fans of the horror genre!
