The Project
Double or Nothing is a short thriller film about a gambling addict who wins the lottery.
You've seen them in casinos before -- the senior who can't stop playing slots even though it's half past daybreak. The loner desperate for another dopamine rush of victory. The person who can't see past their next hand of poker.
This is their story.

About the Creator
My name is Ross Patterson and I am a Los Angeles-based writer and director. After working in the field of Criminal Justice throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, I discovered a higher calling: spreading awareness and social consciousness through art. I met many people struggling within the Criminal Justice system whose experiences need to be shared to create a more open-minded, tolerant world. It is my mission to tell their stories.
For the past two years, I have been attending the Filmmaking Conservatory program at the New York Film Academy. Double or Nothing will be produced as my Thesis Film: the culmination of my education as a filmmaker. For this project, I have chosen to explore a subject that is very personal to me: the pathology of addiction & the vicious cycle it creates.
