Short Summary
Hello! We are the production team behind the upcoming feature film Drinking Games, directed by Hayward Suggs. Our team is based just outside of Chicago, IL. Since we were young, each of us have dreamed of writing, directing, and producing our own films. This is an opportunity for each of us to take a step in that direction. We are dedicated and passionate filmmakers who have been working tirelessly to bring this film to life.
Drinking Games is a comedy/drama (dramedy, if you must) about four close friends who celebrate their annual tradition, The Beer Olympics, at a cabin in the woods. When two of the friends, Brian and Kyle, both admit to each other that they have feelings for their friend Liz, they decide to use the Beer Olympics as a chance to compete for her affection. As the games and the weekend progress, the two find increasingly sadistic ways to sabotage one another.
Our goal is to raise enough money to help our crew accomplish the endlessly challenging task of making a movie, and a good one at that.
What We Need & What You Get
After much deliberation and discussion, we came to the conclusion that we would be able to make the best movie possible with a budget of $10,000.
This money will be used to acquire film equipment, locations, hardware and software, food for our cast and crew, props, makeup, and other various expenses. If there's anything we've learned from working on other indie films in the past, its that the more money you have the more comfortable your shoot can be. Money not only affords us food and nice equipment, it also gives us the opportunity to do things on screen that we wouldn't be able to on a lower budget. Camera movements, soundtrack choices, quality sound (one of the most important things there is and apparently the hardest to get right), good performances ,etc.
For your generous contributions, we are offering various perks, rewards, and services for select prices. Items include a finished copy of the film, a prop from the movie, a copy of the script signed by the cast and director, and other various prizes.
If we do not make our intended goal, the amount of money we make will be used for the essentials of our film like food and transportation to keep our cast and crew well nourished (to keep them working for free) and anything left over will be used on hardware and equipment expenses.
The Impact
Our producers attached to this film have worked on various films and projects that have given them the experience and knowledge to do the job. They have years of knowledge of film equipment, organizational skills, and people skills (seriously, this one is important) at their disposal.
Risks & Challenges
We know it won't be easy to make our goal, and we expect it to be a very trying task, but we feel confident in our script, our director, and our producers to do the job to the best of their ability. Whether we make the money or not, we will be filming Drinking Games this summer AND IT WILL BE GOOD.... but it will definitely be better if we make our budget.
