What is the Drumi?
The Drumi is a foot-powered washing machine that requires minimal amounts of water and no electricity. It is compact and easy to maneuver.
What is the maximum loading capacity per cycle?
Each cycle can hold up to 5 pounds of clothing. This measures up to approximately 5 - 7 personal items (t-shirts, undergarments, etc). We do not recommend towels or bed sheets as they are a bit too heavy.
What types of clothing can I wash in the Drumi?
Anything from undergarments to pet clothes, baby clothes, and ordinary t-shirts.
How long does it take for a cycle with the Drumi?
It takes approximately 5 - 10 minutes for a wash: approximately 3 minutes for a wash, 2 minutes for a rinse and 1 minute for a spin.
How much water does the Drumi use per load?
Approximately 5L - 10L of water is required for a wash and an additional 5L - 10L for rinse. The lid of the Drumi can be used as a way to measure and add water; it can hold 5L at once.
How do I get rid of the water?
There is a twist valve located in the back of the Drumi that will release the water.
Where does the water go?
The water is released through the back. The Drumi will include a detachable hose that allows you to channel where the water is released to.
How wet are the clothes when I'm done a cycle?
The Drumi spins the clothes, leaving them a little bit damp. They can then be hung to dry.
Do I need to find a nearby power supply?
No, this product does not require any energy consumption and is powered entirely by a foot pedal.
What is the cost per load?
The Drumi is very cost-effective. There is no additional cost for energy and the Drumi actually saves the user money. This is because it reduces the use of a standard washing machine.
What type of detergents can I use?
Liquid, powder detergent or any type of detergent alternatives you may use. If the user chooses an eco-friendly detergent, they will have an entirely renewable laundry experience.
What are Soap Nuts?
Soap Nuts are a natural laundry detergent alternative. There are a natural surfactant that separates the dirt from the clothing.
If I'm allergic to nuts, can I still use Soap Nuts?
Yes! Soap Nuts are not actually made out of a nut, but they are an outer shell of a berry. Soap Nuts are a hypo-allergenic, meaning that they are not likely to irritate sensitive skin.
What is the Drumi made of?
The Drumi is made of a combination of stainless steel, aluminum, and engineered plastic.
How can I store the Drumi?
The Drumi is very compact and portable, making it easy to store in small spaces and areas. Because of its materials, it can be stored in both wet and dry areas.
Do you offer any different models?
Currently we are offering the newest version of the Drumi. We plan to develop other models down the road in order to meet the needs for our various user segments.
What will happen if you don't reach the campaign goal? Will I still receive my Drumi?
Yes! You will receive your Drumi no matter what. We are doing flexible funding, which means we will receive all of the funds raised regardless if we hit our goal or not.
