Short Summary
Dryer Fire mostly stepped away from presenting shows since covid hit.
Prior to that, between 2018 and 2020, Dryer Fire (a.k.a Nicole Dyble) presented nearly a hundred live music and arts events - hosting local and touring artists in venues like The M.S. Norgoma, Case's Music, Outspoken Brewing, and The Dryer Fire Pop-Up.
I'm really excited that artists are starting to tour again, but we'll need some extra support to make sure things run smoothly, and safely, and ensure everyone gets paid.
While I've tried my best to promote shows and provide hospitality, in the past it's been pretty hit and miss as to whether artists and those working at shows have been able to get paid fairly. Many expenses have also come out of my pocket without reimbursement.
Considering hardship caused the last couple years, the increased price of gas, touring, and life in general, and the added precautions needed to prevent the spread of covid, I want to ensure that everyone working at these events is compensated.
The Dryer Fire p.a. also ideally needs replacing and we need speakers, some cables, mics and stands.
The aim is to present five concerts between June and September this year, providing paid performance opportunities to both local and touring acts.
