Vision
Based on the promo video, you probably assumed that Easl is the opposite of anything “luxury,” “premium,” or “exclusive.” This may be true; however, Easl is still considered a nice commodity. It is an inexpensive, aesthetically pleasing prop used to make everyday relationships with a smartphone or tablet easier.
I imagine Easl in cafes, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, on receptionist’s desks, as giveaways at big conferences — everywhere. Just like coffee mugs, lunch boxes, or coasters — these seemingly insignificant things make our lives a tiny bit more comfortable. And so does the Easl.
Why crowdfunding?
Easl is purely a by-product of my primary job — designing apps and testing them on mobile devices. It started as a simple DIY project to declutter my desk. With time, it has grown into an exciting venture, the result of which so far is this crowdfunding campaign.
As any inventor, I feel optimistic, even rosy, thinking sometimes: “If I use it — everyone would use it.” Sure, I’ve spread dozens if not hundreds of stands among relatives, friends, acquaintances and beyond to test and see if my product sticks. However, without trying it on a larger audience, it would be an entrepreneur’s classic delusion to think: “Oh, I’ve invented a salvation for all of humanity!” :)
So, can Easl make it on the market and become a commodity? If you’ve made it this far reading, you must already have a bit of faith in it. Pick any perk, and I’ll make sure your support will soon turn into a nice package of phone stands in your mailbox—all complemented with my immense gratitude for your support!
Risks
The mobile stand is production ready. We will produce it in Germany and ship via Deutsche Post. It is not a high-tech product, so there’s little left to worry about, production wise.
Some backers may experience frustration when folding the stand for the first time. There are some fine motor skills required; therefore, I cannot rule out destroying one or two stands when assembling. I wouldn’t anticipate much more than this, though.
