Summary
EDGE Theatre is raising money for our fall shows: Holmes vs Holmes and Lost Girls, and we need your help!
ABOUT EDGE
E.D.G.E.’s acronym stands for “Esteem Development the Greater Expectations”. Using the theatre arts we educate and entertain to foster the tools of social change. EDGE has a goal of finding every participant’s personal best and holding them accountable to it. EDGE’s main thrust is developing theatre for marginalized communities and to bring a message of non-violence, civic, and social change through exploration of the theatre arts.
ABOUT HOLMES VS HOLMES
It is 1893. All of the world waits and watches in anticipation as Chicago opens the gates to its great World’s Fair. For a city that has literally risen from out of the ashes, it is an achievement that is at once magnificent and unparalleled. However, a darkness has begun to stir and prowl through the streets of the beautiful White City, consuming innocence and anything that stands in its way. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, England continues to mourn the loss of the great detective, Sherlock Holmes, after his supposed death over the falls of Reinchenbach. But not everything is as it seems and very soon the famous detective will find himself being swept up in the midst of a case unlike any he has known before. What happens when London’s greatest detective comes face-to-face with America’s first serial killer? Conceived by Orion Couling and Angela Davis Couling, and written by Bill Daniel, this new work combines drama and horror into something magical and new for the stage.
ABOUT LOST GIRLS
“Lost Girls” is a female-based parody of the 1987 movie “Lost Boys”.Having just moved to a new town, two sisters suspect the local kids are really vampires and decide to investigate some of the strange goings-on in their town. This action packed comedy brings all the laughs and strong, female leads kicking some vampire butt Buffy the Vampire Slayer-style.
What We Need & What You Get
We are committed to bringing interesting, engaging theatre with a social message to the public at a reasonable cost. In order to do so, we need sets, costumes, makeup, lights, sound, actors, stage managers, directors, and a space to perform! All donations will go directly to finding our two fall Professional Wing productions: Holmes vs Holmes and Lost Girls.
What do you get for your donation? Check out our rewards. We have everything from video thank yous from Sherlock and friends on facebook, your own Colombian Exposition photo shoot, to Adopting a Vampire of your very own. We are also a 501c3 Non Profit, so all donations are tax-deductable.
The Impact
E.D.G.E Theatre is unique in that our professional productions act as fundraisers for our Youth and Constellation productions. The money we raise with ticket sales goes directly to these incredibly worthwhile programs, and not back into the Professional Wing. That is why we need help with our budget for these productions.
By donating to this production, you will also be supporting EDGE Youth (which does theatre and classes with homeschool and unschooled youth in marginalized communities) and EDGE Constellation (which does theatre and classes with children and young adults with Special Needs).
