Lock is well known as an indispensable component and integral part of a luggage or travel bag
providing its owner most basic form of securing personal belongings during a trip. However, its functionality is indisputably cumbersome and security
performance is unquestionably low as have not been keeping up with changes of modern
society of increasing highly mobile travelers. Further, concerns over the security of luggage’s valuable
contents is undeniably justified especially when luggage is left unattended in airport,
train, ferry compartments or hotel concierge area. To avoid anxiety of losing checked-in
valuable items, often travelers left with little option but to subject themselves hand-carrying
heavy multiple-bags choking up limited flight cabins spaces and jamming up aisles during
boarding. These were unfortunate tradeoffs and unnecessary anxiety experienced by many frequent travelers and holiday makers.

LOCK = SECURITY.
Locks essentially means 'SECURITY'. A luggage lock that is easily cracked or FAILS to secure your belongings while integrating with many other secondary features like remote unlocking, GPS tracking, weighting scale etc. just does not SOUND right to be categorized as a lock - it is simply a 'tech gimmick or toy' at best!
We believe that as a lock or locking device for a luggage, its vital PRIMARY function is to ensure security/protection. Therefore, we focus on perfecting its PRIMARY functions while integrating other secondary functions such as ease-of-use, vicinity tracking etc. to enhance users' travel experience.
In line with that, we have chosen Near Field Communication (NFC) as our PRIMARY unlocking/access technology. Unlike Bluetooth or RFID, NFC is designed with vital focus in security and has been well-known as the De Facto technology for mobile secured cash payment/transaction. eGeeTouch® Travel Padlock is optimized for proximity access with the accompanied Smart NFC-driven Fobs/Tags.
Proprietary communication protocol and encryption technologies are deployed to prevent unauthorized attempts to extract stored access codes and an electronic luggage tag containing luggage owner's information.
Bluetooth is implemented in eGeeTouch® Travel Padlock mainly for the Displacement/Locational vicinity tracking (patented feature) allowing travellers to be alerted when their unattended luggage/travel bags have been moved/displaced unknowingly in scenario such as; when resting/taking a catnap or having a meal during airport transit while waiting for boarding etc.

eGeeTouch® Travel Padlock is optimized for access via Smart NFC Fobs/Tags/Sticker/Cards. eGeeTouch® Travel Padlock is powered by 2 standard LR44/A76 button batteries easily available in the market. Who needs a rechargeable battery when yours can last for 2000-3000 locking/unlocking cycles or approx. 3 years depending on your usage? Assuming 9 months of continuous usage in a
year and every day turn on/off 3 times i.e. (9/12)x 365days a year x 3 (times
daily) x 3 years = 2463 times. Simply change the batteries when they run out which only takes you a couple of minutes. In the event when batteries die despite notification from App, you may still use a standard external USB mobile power source (e.g. your Laptop PC or USB power bank) to power up eGeeTouch® smart lock via the USB terminal provided, and then proceeds with unlocking as usual.
In fact, rechargeable batteries are typically more expensive, while cheap rechargeable batteries often has low life-span that resulted to shorter operating life for lock as well.
eGeeTouch® smart travel padlocks are not waterproof. They are IP 43 water resistance which essentially means withstanding a slashing water or a few minutes of rain. Its electronic board is coated with a layer of water resistance material. Likewise to most electronic products, when prolonged splashing with or completely submerging into water, the batteries drain out quickly. Simply ensure the lock is completely dry and then install new batteries to regain its function. This travel smartlock operates in wide humidity environment (20% to 90%) as well as broad range of operating temperature (-20°C to +50°C).

Our team consists of multinational, interdisciplinary and highly specialized professionals focusing on the development of core capabilities within niched domain expertise of intelligent proximity-access security technologies and innovative products. We are now in the very last phase of finalizing the assembly process before we start our pilot production and final stage refinements for quality control. The pilot production is a pressing period for us as we verify product functional and regulatory compliance and execute the concluding tests before embarking into mass production stage.
Our greatest advantage is that we have our own world-class factory and a manufacturing team with niche expertise in intelligent locking devices. We have a team of highly specialized R&D engineers, experienced management and advisory committee in the electronics industry for over 20 years. RISKS & CHALLENGES
eGeeTouch® Smart Travel Padlock is in its final stage reliability test, refinements and regulatory compliance testings. In fact, our generic version of embossed type smart luggage lock module has been approved for compliance to FCC, CE and TSA and it is currently on sales in Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Germany and Amazon Japan. Thus, the relevant early experience of developing and manufacturing the generic NFC smartlock models mitigates considerable risks associated with this Travel padlock. Our Smart Travel Padlock design and prototype testing phases have been completed. We are moving into pilot production stage and reliability test before proceeding to mass production and delivery procedures. Pilot production is due to start, and we are working closely with our factory and suppliers to ensure a smooth process.
Manufacturing:
Despite less likely, complications that may occur during our pilot production and mass production. We shall put extra effort to mitigate this process by leveraging our experience and expertise on our previous NFC luggage lock module and working very closely with accredited 3rd party independent test provider and manufacturing supply chain to ensure that our components, product quality, reliability and production process are in order and strictly adhere to ISO9002 and ISO14001.
Software:
Our eGeeTouch® software is currently available on both iOS and Android OS. We are constantly updating the app to fix minor bugs and issues with the ultimate aim to enable our users to have hassle-free plus peace-of-mind experiences.

1. How Secure is eGeeTouch Smart Travel Padlock?
Unlike many conventional combination digit-wheel dial locks that can be cracked in seconds, eGeeTouch® NFC-driven smart locks are preprogramed with patented algorithm having 6-alphanumeric codes containing over many millions of IDs. The preprogramed ID is further encrypted to enhance proximity access NFC security. A proprietary communication protocol is further deployed for multiple security layers preventing unauthorized attempts to extract stored information. User defined unlocking IDs can be conveniently set by authorized lock's owner and securely stored on your Android smartphone, tablet, PC or App without the need to remember.This security protocol is similar to those online banking or retailer's point-of-sales payment but simpler to use.
2. Why Use NFC over Bluetooth as PRIMARY Access?
The patented eGeeTouch smart lock deploys proprietary advanced NFC-driven proximity access-gaining technology as the PRIMARY access method which is superior for (1) higher security, (2) faster connection speed, & (3) negligible power consumption in comparison to other Bluetooth-driven locks.
Particularly, (i) NFC is secured close-proximity access eradicating concerns over any unwanted vicinity interception or hijacking Over-The-Air (OTA) transmissions. (ii) NFC connection is instantaneous (<1sec) while Bluetooth connection requires initialization time that typically takes >15sec which could be rather annoying when experienced daily. (iii) NFC-paired devices such as smartphone requires negligible power as compared to Bluetooth. And, NFC Tags are passive devices which do not need their own power source to operate.
However, Bluetooth is provided as SECONDARY access choice for users who prioritize convenience over security in view of personal preference and individual circumstances.
3. Can I Reset My PRIMARY Password or the eGeeTouch Smart Travel Padlock?
NO. In view of security consideration, we DO NOT keep any MASTER password or provide reset option which may compromise the security of the device if stolen. Users are advised to keep safely their own PRIMARY ID for any emergency once they change the factory pre-programmed ID.
4. Does eGeeTouch Smart Travel Padlock comply with TSA and other Airline Regulations?
To-date, eGeeTouch® Travel Padlock is the World's 1st and Only smart travel padlock accepted by Transport Security Administration (TSA) and complies with the standards of International Air Transport Association (IATA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
5. What is the battery life of the Smart Travel Padlock?
The batteries are expected to last for 2,000 to 3,000 times turning ON/OFF or over 2 to 3 years of battery life (depends on usage), based on 3 times locking/unlocking per day usage. Typical ON time for eGeeTouch® smart travel padlock is less than 10 seconds and it turns itself OFF automatically, hence consuming little/no battery power thereafter. Further, it notifies you via your smartphone when batteries run low. However, intensive usage on vicinity tracking mode does somewhat shorten battery life depending on usage.

6. What happens if the battery runs out?
When the batteries run low, users are repeatedly notified via their smartphone or the LED of the smart padlock. And still if the batteries are not replaced and ultimately run out, users may still use a standard external USB mobile power source (e.g. your Laptop PC or USB power bank) to power up eGeeTouch® smart lock via the USB terminal and cable provided, and then proceeds with unlocking as usual.
7. Why are rechargeable batteries NOT our preferred choice for eGeeTouch Travel Padlock?
Most airlines or airport operators refuse/forbid to let luggage owner putting sizeable rechargeable battery (e.g. Lithium battery power pack of >100Wh) into a luggage during check-in as it may risk of overheating and cause fire hazards. In addition, good rechargeable batteries are typically very expensive and poor rechargeable batteries has very low lifespan which affected the lifespan of the device/product itself. Even without using, rechargeable battery often drains off itself fairly quickly which may cause inconvenience when in need especially with these less frequently used travel locks.
8. What Do You Mean by Access Tracking?
It means that you will be able to know WHO accessed the lock, WHEN was it accessed and WHERE it has been accessed. This is especially important for users whom may have their luggage contents missing, they can trace back to when the lock has been accessed.
9. Can We Use GPS to Track & Trace our Travel Padlock?
NO. In fact, most of current commercial GPS technologies are unable to reliably detect an object/item when it is located inside a building or stored in a metal shielded container/truck/aeroplane. For example, satellite signal of automotive GPS navigation system usually fails to indicate direction whenever the car is inside a tunnel.
10. What is The Warranty for eGeeTouch Travel Padlock?
