What is "End of Times Therapy" About?
The year is 2040. The everything apocalypse has dramatically changed Los Angeles. Food is scarce, war is imminent, the patriarchy dominates local tribes and the beach starts at Centinela. A lone therapist still seeks to practice and help a young woman. "End of Times Therapy" explores the themes of love, gender wars, class wars, real wars, and the therapeutic process. The play features a love story, several explosions, at least one helicopter, and some golf.
How did this play come about?
Like many people during the pandemic, Solange was was stuck at home with anxiety about the world and a lot of time on her hands. She wrote a draft of “End of Times Therapy” and sent it to Abigail, who had acted in Solange’s first produced play, “Changes In The Mating Strategies of White People” in 2014. Abigail was on board and began casting the parts for a Zoom reading. Thus began a three year process of writing, readings, re-writing, and more readings that led to the play’s current production status. We have explored the characters, story, and worked with dozens of talented actors to bring this baby home. We can’t wait to share it with the world!
