The project
Ernest Egg is a project for a new and fantastic stop-motion feature film!
We want to produce the adveture of Ernest Egg and his crew, starting from the teaser and finishing with the movie!
![]()
Ernest Egg is an adventurer, an explorer
and a scientist who will undertake several trips around the world with his
faithful friend Karl Von Kartoffeln, just to satisfy his thirst for knowledge
and his desire to impress. During these trips he will
study, document and hunt those who the common people call “Legends” and that no
one has actually ever seen.
The project’s concept has been
thought out in such a way that it can be enjoyed by a very wide range of “children”
of all ages, from pre-teens all the way to those adult readers who keep looking
at life in a playful and ironic way.
Mainly inspired by the great
adventure writers such as Jules Verne and Jack London and by movies like Jean-Pierre
Jeunet’s dreamy "Amélie",
Ernest Egg’s all about travel and discovery, play and adventure, the fundamental
archetypes of human consciousness. The stories will lay before the readers’ eyes as very familiar yet fantastic situations: the comparison with real life will then
make the latter so much lighter and fun, just as children look around them and
see nothing but opportunity.
With this crowdfunding campaign we want
to produce the trailer. If things get hot, as we all hope, amazing stretch goals will be unlocked to achieve our big dream... the stop-motion film.

The Indiegogo Campaign
The goal of this campaign is to find funds to cover the expenses for our dream, the stop-motion movie, even if we know that this will be the longest and most expensive adventure of Ernest.
For this reason we created a map with different goals (the "X" marks the spot) we want to achieve with this crowdfunding campaign and future initiatives:

We have a lot of projects and ideas, but we need your help!

The Plot: "A tasty chronicle from the island Delicia"
Ernest Egg, our hero, takes on a journey to Delicia Island,
alongside to his longtime friend and adventure companion Karl Von Kartoffeln. The goal of this journey is to prove to the
scientific boards that the Siren of the Mountain, who attracts the
travelers till the top of the Roaring
Volcano, is not just a legend, but a terrible truth.
![]()
Ernest gets to have on board none other than
Captain A.Bach, the man who sails
the seven seas to find his nemesis, the extremely dangerous Sea Werewolf. This mythical creature
assaults every ship at hand in the search of its Magic Tooth, but just once a
month, when the full moon rises high in the sky.
At soon as he gets to Sirens Bay, Ernest starts to meet lots of different monsters, such
as Groomy Foody, very hairy
grease-eater creatures or the scary dreadful sisters Voo, AND and Doo, whose favorite hobby is sewing up
macabre dolls while sipping their favorite tea blend (the “Voo Doo Like?”
tea) and brainstorming on the next creepy prick for the island's inhabitants.
It is, however, on the top of the Roaring
Volcano, that things get HUGE!
Ernest will at last meet the Siren of the
Mountain, just to discover that she's not what she seems. Lots of incredible
things will happen there, and hour hero will in the end be ready to leave by
getting back on Captain A.Bach's boat (the “BOOT”). He'll soon realize, though, that he's lost
his diary, the only prove that he lived the whole adventure.
Once again, the London Scientific Society
won't be able to exactly know what happened to the Legend Hunter in his
mission.
Not a problem: Ernest's got a brand new diary and great new adventures and LEGENDS are out there waiting to be hunted!

The Characters
Ernest Egg
Ernest Egg is English, of noble descent. His father is a member of the House
of Lords, his mother belongs to one of the most important families of
Britain's aristocracy. For centuries, his family has lived and prospered on
broccoli production and commerce. Ernest studied at the best schools in London
and he just turned twenty when he decided to start his own special scientific
research, supported by his mother.
The never ending thirst for knowledge and the
constant desire to impress lead Ernest and his faithful friend Karl
Kartoffeln to take several trips around the world to study, document and
hunt those things which called “Legends” by the common people.

Karl Von
Kartoffeln
Karl Von Kartoffeln, heir to the greatest dynasty of potato growers, is
Ernest's dearest friend. He's most probably the only one who'd tolerate our
hero's mood swings and easily lets himself get involved in his friends' amazing
adventures.
He's very tall. So tall that he neve fits into
photographs – in fact you won't ever be able to see his face at all. He decided
to follow Ernest as his personal assistant, and it's often him who take him out
of trouble during the expeditions around the world.
He's dumb, but this doesn't mean he can't
"talk" to people. He also loves Egg's Food Industry's broccoli
and to sail the sea.

Why Crowdfunding?
Sometimes it's very easy to make a choice – it can naturally come out as a consequence of something that's previously taken place. This is exactly what happened with Ernest Egg and its crowdfunding campaign: it lies in the very nature of the project.
Ernest Egg is one of those larger-than-life characters, as well as the whole project.
Ernest Egg's potential is unique. We know that and we want everyone to be aware of this potential, we want to share this ambitious project with the whole world.
The crowdfunding way seemed the most suitable one for something as big and open as the Ernest Egg project. As of today, we have in mind to produce a feature film in stop motion!
Crowdfunding is a unique tool. It easily allows us to get in touch with the people who'd like to meet Ernest's universe, dream with us, and then help us meeting the goal of producing it. It's great to see the public as our patron and at the same time let them live with us the experience of the developing and creation of this amazing dream. This is the true beauty of crowdfunding: getting to know the very people who'll love the fruit of what they funded themselves!
Get to know Ernest, fall in love with him, his crew and the creatures he meets.
What we ask is to share it and support it, in order to make this dream come true!

The Authors
Francesco
“Paul Izzo” Polizzo
Francesco is a comics lover since he was a
little child. His screenwriting skills are due to a wild imagination and the
great teachers he chose as mentors, such as Laura Scarpa, Antonio Serra,
Gianfranco Manfredi and Francesco Artibani. Fascinated by the opportunities
provided by the internet, Francesco started publishing web comics through a
dedicated platform called Verticalismi.it (still active) where in a short time
period created the now known underground series “Viole(n)T Hill”, destined to
be the most important series of the host website. He published "Lo Scarafaggio" with Cagliostro E Press publisher. He can count several
publications both for the Italian and English-speaking markets (e.g. The Steampunk
Originals) and has contributed to some drafts for Diabolik, "L'insonne" (G. Di
Bernardo, AJ Polidori) and Robotics. He recently appeared as a writer for a
feature short story in the choral graphic novel “Indian Tales”
(Passenger Press), and in “Yang” (Shockdom Editions) with the first part
of the “THUG Team” series.
Ernest Egg
(http://www.ernestegg.com) is his most ambitious project to date.
It has a hard drive full of stories that
constantly guards and he lives without cats but with three women and – inevitably
– is always wrong.
Stefano
“The Tree” Bosi Fioravanti
Stefano “The Tree” Bosi Fioravanti was born in
Vigevano in 1989. At the age of nine months he starts to speak. Since his early
years he shows an excessive self esteem and a pretty high aesthetic sense. He
keeps filling notebooks with dinosaurs, monsters and very hairy cavemen. When
he was drawing freehand almost-circles, his grandmother used to say he'd become
“a new Giotto” and he used to answer “I'll do better than Giotto!” without even
knowing what a “Giotto” was. With this challenging spirit and to not
disappoint his granny, Stefano studied arts. He then got to knew the real
Giotto and after several drawing, painting, sculpture, comics courses and
countless workshop at Milan University, he attended the classes at the IED. His
classes ended right when he was giving light to his first son: Ernest Egg.
Ernest soon became an adventurous young
man, and in 2014 he left for his first adventure.
Stefano is an illustrator, graphic designer,
character designer, sculptor, teacher, racing-pumpkins driver, but in truth he
would have liked to study and look after Jurassik Park's dinosaurs.
At the age of 25 he hasn't stopped talking,
yet.
