Meet Eva, a hands-free, distraction-free vibrator designed to provide women the clitoral stimulation they want during penetrative sex.

Staying in place with the help of two flexible wings which tuck under the labia, Eva is designed to stay out of the way in the moment, giving you a boost of stimulation while leaving your hands free to move around and focus on intimacy.

We designed Eva to address what we call the Pleasure Gap. In heterosexual couples, women are more than four times likelier to describe recent sex as unpleasurable. In fact, studies have shown that men orgasm more than twice as often as their female partners during sex.

A huge factor in the Pleasure Gap is clitoral stimulation. As much as 70 percent of women need clitoral stimulation to have an orgasm, but as couples who've tried know, providing that stimulation during vaginal intercourse is often awkward, tiring, or disruptive to one or both partners. That's why we, a women-led team, made Eva!

1. KEEP IT INTIMATE
It’s no secret that using vibrators can enhance sex for women, but let’s face it: holding a toy in place can be distracting and even counterproductive. We designed Eva to put your focus back where it belongs: on each other.

2. FREE YOUR HANDS
Eva stays in place all on its own, without any extra straps or garments. This way, your hands are free to support your weight and movement or whatever else they may be needed for ;)

3. OUT OF HIS WAY
Many other hands-free vibrators lessen the guy’s experience by introducing uncomfortable friction, restriction around his penis, or even unwanted vibrations. Eva gives her pleasure without taking any away from him.

4. FEEL EACH OTHER
Some other hands-free vibrators anchor inside the vagina, positioning a piece of plastic between some of the most sensitive parts of each others’ bodies. Eva doesn’t put up a barrier, allowing you to feel each other, and more.

We use the most modern methods, equipment, and materials to design Eva. Using our fleet of 3D printers, we were able to iterate prototypes quickly and explore various forms. This allowed us to get user feedback early and often, resulting in a functional shape that fits a wide range of women.

WHY WE CREATED EVA
We started with a compelling problem: the disparity in sexual pleasure between men and women. From our research, we knew how important clitoral stimulation is for women’s overall satisfaction; this is why many therapists suggest using a vibrator during sex. However, many women and couples find handheld vibrators so awkward and distracting that they actually detract from the experience. So it is no surprise that hands-free vibrating toys like penis rings and the We-Vibe are top sellers.

While these toys are popular, our research showed that they can still have a negative impact, especially on the male experience--anything from mild discomfort to preventing sex entirely. We set out to design a wearable clitoral stimulator that would enhance the lady’s pleasure without penalizing the gentlemen.

Designing Eva was an optimization challenge between minimizing size and weight while ensuring power, functionality, and ease of use. We tried motor after motor until we found one that was both compact and strong, then used PWM to dial in some lower vibration intensities for more sensitive women.

The silicone surrounding the motor makes contact with your body for minimal losses in vibrational energy. We designed our button to be accessible and easy to press for her, without any risk of being hit accidentally by him. The end result is a beautiful vibrator that is made to last.

OUR MISSION
We create toys that fit into your sex life, instead of making your sex life adapt to our products. Our process is consumer centric, meaning we spend a lot of time talking to women and sex therapists so we can engineer vibrators that fit the multitude of sexual needs. We believe that vibrators can be a tool for empowering women and strengthening couples through exploration and sexual agency.

ALEXANDRA FINE | CEO
Alexandra Fine has had a life-long fascination with human sexuality. She graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Clinical Psychology concentrating in sex therapy. She has worked to promote sexual health at multiple non-profits, chaired her undergraduate college’s Sex Week, and taught sexual education programs. Alex was one of four employees at a consumer packaged goods company, which gave her an education in the operation of a startup. Alex wanted a career where she could help people explore and enjoy their sexuality in a broad and scalable way. Coming from an entrepreneurial background, she founded Dame Products to realize that vision.

JANET LIEBERMAN | CTO
Janet Lieberman was the lead engineer for MakerBot’s Replicator Mini Compact Desktop 3D Printer, which won five Best-In-Show Awards from different publications at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show. After graduating from MIT in 2007 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, she honed her skills and developed new ones at an impressive roster of companies. Aside from MakerBot, her work experience includes working at the industrial 3D printer company, Z Corporation (now part of 3D Systems); being one of the first ten employees at the crowdsourcing consumer product development company Quirky; and acting as a quality engineer at MindsInSync, the multinational soft goods corporation responsible for the MicroDry brand.

AND OTHERS
Although Alex and Janet are the core of the team that makes up Dame Products, they would not have been able to produce Eva without the help of their awesome team of freelancers, friends, and advisors. The contributions of Dame adjuncts include (but are not limited to): industrial design, PCB design, FEA analysis, soldering, photography, videography, copywriting, firmware, packaging, rendering, and animation.

Q: Will Eva be shipped discreetly?
Absolutely. The packaging we use for this product will be completely discreet. It’ll be our little secret. ;)

Q: How do I pay for shipping?
First, you only need to add extra shipping costs if you live outside the US. We have already included a flat rate of $10 for US shipping in the amount of each Perk. Q: Can I back this project anonymously?

Q: Does Eva always stay in place, for every woman, in every position, with every partner, every time?
If anyone ever tells you that ANYTHING about sex is one-size-fits-all, they’re lying to you. That said, we’ve tried our hardest, and we’ve gotten very close. In order for it to always, always, always stay in place we’d have to make something that glues to your vulva, and we just didn’t feel great about that option. How well Eva stays in place will depend on the geometry of your anatomy and how you like to have sex. We designed Eva to fit a wide range of women, and continued to iterate until the vast majority reported it stayed securely in place during most positions. Additionally, our testing showed that Eva’s compact size and conforming shape often make it a step up from a bullet or other vibrator, even when it didn’t fully “stay in place”; because Eva did most of the work, pressure between the bodies or one lightly resting finger could do the rest.

Q: What were the product testers like?
Our testing pool - so far - has ranged 95 pounds in weight (3.4σ) , 9 inches in height (2.6σ), and 30 years in age. We’re adding more data every day.

Q: What color is Eva?
Eva comes in two colors, which were voted on and decided by our Indiegogo backers! You can order Eva in Lavender or Aqua.

Q: Is Eva body safe?
We believe your vagina deserves top quality! Our product is made of medical grade silicone, the gold standard of sex toy materials. It’s non-porous, easily washable, and hypoallergenic.

Q: Is Eva waterproof?
Eva is water resistant, but we do not test this product in full submersion. It is fully encapsulated in silicone, but that seal is punctured when plugging in the charger for first use. While this entry point stays fairly small, we do not recommend this product for underwater use.

Q: Can I use Eva if there are no 120V outlets where I live?
Yes. Eva comes with a USB charging cable, and we've included a 120V AC to 5V DC adapter for your convenience (the same as an iPhone adapter). If you live in Europe or Asia (or anywhere else with a different line voltage standard), just charge Eva using a USB port or any adapter which goes from your local voltage to 5V 1A DC.

Q: Does Eva have a warranty?
Dame is 100% prepared to stand by the workmanship of the Eva vibrator. We are still working out the official terms of the limited warranty, but we intend to replace defective units for at least a one-year period. Due to the nature of the product, we of course cannot accept returns of Eva once the box has been opened.

Q: What’s next for Dame?
We want to continue to make phenomenal sex toys like Eva that target real needs; we have lots of ideas and just need to figure out which one to pursue first!
