My Thoughts.

You like taking photos, and wishing the time still. But what I want is to capture the moment, and to remember the long-lasting feel. 

I keep all photos well, reviving every moment, from time to time. And I was led to different stories, deeper and deeper, every time. 

These photos might be rough, and incomplete, and faulty in your eyes. But what I see, is something touching, something spiritual, something meaningful. 

From the time YASHICA first captured the world in 1949, I knew, though it has no outstanding synopsis, the story will last long. And you may have noticed, there is never a narrator, nor is it necessary...

After being silent for more than 10 years, we wake up with the unexpected.

Coupled with the masterpiece design of the first electronic controlled shutter camera in the world, the YASHICA Electro 35, featuring with the Unprecedented digiFilm system, YASHICA Y35 camera brings in an extraordinary photography experience.

In both appearance and sensation, YASHICA Y35 recaptures the joy and meaning of analogue-photography but eliminating the time and expense required for film development.

Taste as analogue camera, need to load a “digiFilm”  to create your album. A brief pause is required to wind on the film before shooting.  At this millisecond of pulse, it grants us time to inspire and think, the exact moment the shutter snaps.

The digiFilm™ System

The innovative digiFilm technology was created by YASHICA.  It gives photographers the best of both worlds.: the feeling and looks of analogue with the magic and ease of it. 

It is not a film in the traditional sense. But just like an analogue camera, you need to load a “digiFilm” to your camera Y35 to create your album.   

The digiFilm is an image controller loaded inside the camera like a film cartridge, applying a sophisticated effect to the image in the moment it’s taken.

digiFilm will not be consumed. The photos taken are stored in SD card.

Every Image is Real

Using YASHICA Y35 is a journey to the truth—there is no instant gratification of a review screen, no delete button, and no hiding from mistakes. Every image stays true to itself. The world seen from the viewfinder of Y35, might be a little slower, a little prettier, transporting us back to a time when we all pay a little bit more attention, and causing us to care each shot before clicking the shutter – because it must solid the first tie or the moment is lost. Every Y35 image is real, carefully captured in its true moment.

We ran a test shooting outdoors with the upgraded working prototype with a larger sensor (1/2.5”) and 4G lens (f2.0). You can notice this upgraded prototype is capable to produce not only a brighter, sharper image but also a higher image layer (Deeper Image). It shows how those two upgrades are working together smoothly and even under outdoor daylight conditions. 

This is the very first upgraded prototype we have ever created. Surely there are still areas yet to be fully optimised and everything is still in further enhancement. Definitely the image will be more brilliant when the Y35 is delivered in your hand.
