We want to create a beautiful Facebook Chat app for Mac OS X that will allow you to chat with your online Facebook friends and send message to the offline ones.

Inspiration for this project comes from elegant applications for Mac OSX, including Tweetie, Things, Transmit, Versions. We would like the interface to be simple and beautiful. Specific features for each version will be send to everyone who pledge.

Facechat will be a Cocoa app written in Objective-C. I've been writing software for more than 10 years, both professionally and open source, including extensive work on open source projects like "Kannel", "The Whuffie bank". I've also been writing some python libraries and helping with some bug fixing of the language itself.

Federico will be doing the UI/UX. He has a lot of experience on this field and he work on big-impact sites like "mercadolibre", "taringa", and the Buenos Aires guvernment. You can see his dribbble profile here: http://dribbble.com/abadfederico

We expect to have an alpha version completed on May 1st (Yes, next month!), with beta versions coming in the next month, and 1.0 shipping two months from now, at which point the source code will be made available on GitHub.
