April 9th: NEW PERK: Become a Team Member!

 Be part of our team for some sceneframing fun! For $50 you and a friend can join us for one filming location in or near Vancouver and see how we work. You can even hold the iPad and have your photo taken by Tiia. We are in town from April 17th to 21st and if you purchase this perk we’ll contact you to set up the time and date of your visit. 

We're planning to visit filming locations of shows like Supernatural, The X-Files and Once Upon A Time among many others.

We will take a one of a kind photo just for you on the road! It will be from one of our awesome destinations and we’ll even personalize it by adding your name on our iPad – or some other cool way if we happen to think of something. The photo will be emailed to you after our trip.

March 19th: We're coming to Vancouver!! 

We’re arriving to the beautiful city of Vancouver on April 16th and spending a few days working on our sceneframing photos by visiting several filming locations of Supernatural & a few other tv shows. We’ll be quite busy with all that, but we’ve decided to put together..

Fangirl Quest is a project combining our love of TV and movies, photography and travel.

What started as an epic road trip to filming locations all over the UK in the summer of 2013, eventually led to a series of photos we like to call Sceneframing. In short we travel to amazing movie and TV filming locations and take photos in the exact spots where the scenes were shot originally. Though this is still the heart and soul of our Quest, it has grown into so much more. Our blog has gotten bigger and better, but we want to share our love and passion for the things we adore with other fans as well - all over the world.

Sceneframing means we go out and find a filming location, bring a screenshot of the scene filmed there on our iPad and re-frame it right where it was originally filmed! This is what the result looks like:

We are Tiia and Satu, two fangirls originally from Finland now living in Cardiff – the fandom capital of the world. Living here gives us plenty of access to filming locations of some our favorite shows like Doctor Who, Sherlock and Torchwood all over South Wales, not to mention that we sometimes have a chance to even see them filming! But there are so many other shows and movies we love and amazing locations all around the world and we want to visit them all - and meet other fans along the way.

Our roadtrip dream is pure madness. It’s 10,000 miles within a few weeks. It’s endless days of driving and not getting enough sleep.

It’s finding the location and snapping the photos, then getting back in the car again. But it’s what we do - it’s what we want to do! It’s not a walk in the park, but it’s our dream. 

We'll begin the journey from Vancouver, Canada, because that's where Supernatural and several other great shows like The X-Files and Once Upon A Time have been filmed. From there we'll go as far as we can, visiting as many locations as possible. We'll spend every single dollar on gas and cheap motel rooms. 

We’ll meet other fans along the way and tell their stories when we come home. We’ll make new friends and hopefully help them make new friends. 

We are looking for 10 000 dollars to take us to Vancouver, Canada and drive down the west coast of USA all the way to LA, the movie capital of the world. But why stop there! The math is pretty simple: the more money we raise, the further we can go, which means we have more chances of meeting fellow fans and more sceneframing photos to share with you. If we reach $20 000 we'll continue towards Atlanta via places like Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and Albuquerque. With $30 000 we'll be able to drive all the way up the east coast!

One of our favorite things about doing what we do is meeting fellow fans! Whether it's on the set of some show filming or queuing all day to catch a glimpse of our favorite stars on the red carpet at a premiere, we've met some lovely people and made great friends, so now we want to make sure we get to meet YOU. We'll be organizing Fangirl Quest meet-ups in the cities we end up visiting, so if we happen to stop by your city, come on over and say hi! Whether you’re a member of Team Free Will, burdened with glorious Loki feels or The One Who Knocks, we’ll probably find Stuff and Things to squee over together!
