What is FELL
Hello there. My name is Travis Jones. Myself and a group of collaborators/friends are here to tell you a story called FELL.
Unlike fictions of the vampire, which may be dismissed with the close of a book or a blank screen, effects of the fictions of race and gender cannot be avoided.
In the short film FELL, we plan to explore representations of capitalism, racism, sexism, and exploitation. We want to evocatively engage audiences with subject matter rarely discussed in a cinematic manner.
By being a part of our project you'll help give life to a much a needed narrative exploration of the most neglected person in America.

What's the money for?
Filmmaking, when done right, is a gruesome, harrowing, and physically destructive process. Lives are laid waste in the span of three or four days. To make people feel better about throwing their youth to the gallows, we try to provide good food, water, and caffeine. And a lot of love.
Here's a budget breakdown:
Through unmentionable means, I have procured 20% of the budget. For my own safety and well being, we come to you, the republic, to raise the remaining 80%. Our goal, along with money I've raised, can see us to the finish line—of principal photography.
FELL involves intense and time consuming prosthetic make-up. To age our beautiful actresses from their current age to twilight requires time, money, effort and a boss special effects make-up artist.
To keep costs manageable, most crew members have graciously donated their time. I feel it’s necessary to give them the best possible sandbox to play in! Your contribution will lead to a well equipped production, enabling the artists gathered to explore and create a strong version of our story.
Stretch Goals!!!
If we can exceed our goal, the remaining post-production pipeline will flow just as smoothly.
Stretch Goal of $7,500: The current goal secures us to the last "cut!" Surpassing this and reaching $7,500 will help us hire the various post-production positions.
Stretch Goal of $8,500: The whole shebang!!!! We can finish the entire production and post-production: editing, color correction, sound design, titles and music. A complete production from front to back—provided by our friends and community.
Who Are We?
Travis Jones - Writer + Director
![]()
Travis is a Brooklyn-based director from Norfolk, Virginia. His interest in filmmaking began at the age of 19, after watching both Amélie and Fellowship of the Ring in the same weekend. As a filmmaker his goal is to create compelling stories that not only represent various facets of society, but reflect a spectrum of human emotion underdeveloped in mainstream cinema.
Nick Perron-Siegel - Cinematographer
![]()
Nick wouldn't write a bio, so Travis is doing this for him. Nick is awesome. Except for when he is not. These instances usually involve sending a pic and writing a bio.
Sophia Uehara - Production Designer

Sophia is a Japanese-American Production Designer and Graphic Designer based in New York City, who has worked on award winning productions ranging from short to feature length. She was an ambassador to Indonesia for the United States in 2015, and has dedicated herself to providing accurate representation of diverse individuals in her work through the use of color, pattern, texture, and in-depth research.
TeShima Brennen - Editor
![]()
TeShima is a visual storyteller and content creator based in Brooklyn. She uses cinematography, photography, writing, and video editing as vessels to shine a light on topics and ideas that allows others to think outside the box. She loves being involved in the storytelling process from pre-production to post-production. She has worked on a number of short films, feature films, webseries, photography projects, and academic campaigns.
Brandon Scotland - Producer
![]()
Brandon is Brooklyn based filmmaker with a passion for directing and producing. He went to Penn State University where he received his degree in Film and Video Production. Originally from New Jersey, he returned to manage Ironbound Film and Television Studios for two years before joining Transfixion Films as head of production for the following year. Brandon moved to Brooklyn to help bolster the creative community working relentlessly to tell meaningful and entertaining stories with reflexive messaging and depth. Stories like FELL.
Brandon enjoys summer days in the park, craft beer, and cutting off other drivers to avoid traffic. Brandon dislikes when drivers stop and anxiously wait for him to cross the street. He otherwise moves through life at his own pace, not getting hit by cars.
Taylor Bradshaw - Producer
![]()
Taylor got his start as a music producer, composer, and audio engineer in New York City. He is now a video producer and co-founder of Stockboy Creative, a multimedia production company in NYC.
It's now quite commonplace for Taylor to play a rock show in an underground club, bleed on his guitar, go home and wipe off his black nail polish, and make it to an editorial film shoot in the morning.
Jenna D'Angelo - Co-Producer
![]()
Jenna D'Angelo is a Brooklyn-based producer, actor and director as well as a co-founder of Mastodon Theatre Company. She has worked on many award winning and nominated short and feature films. Jenna and Travis have collaborated together on multiple projects, most recently the short Park Day. One of Jenna's biggest passions is to create female-driven work and give voice—and jobs—to underrepresented artists.
Want to see some previous work? Check out our director's last short film, We Don't Know What We're Doing AND a promo for an upcoming music video.
But Wait...
Every film production has its own specific challenges. Our primary challenge in FELL will be maintaining quality on a tight schedule with minimal crew. Additionally, short films can occupy a no-man's-land in the film industry—most languish on the internet or catch a few eyes at small film festivals. We believe our cast and crew's passion for the subject matter and focus on the craft of filmmaking can meet the challenge of creating a quality, and attention grabbing piece of work.
"How else can I help?"
Simply following on the social medias or convincing a friend that does have money is the easiest way you can help us.
This project will only see the day of light—which is ironic because this is a vampire story—with your help. Any version of help you can provide is needed and necessary: because the world needs nuanced and emotional stories about gender and ethnicity.
THANK YOU!!!
