A Little Bit About Us
Field of Honor is written, directed and produced by film students in Orlando, FL. We will filming on 35mm film which is a big opportunity for us. We recently finished a 16mm production in November of 2010. Our work has been featured in several local film festivals including most recently in the Brouhaha Film and Video Showcase in December.
We only have about 5 weeks to get all of our ducks in a row before we jump headlong into production in the second week of February.
What Will the Audience Get Out of It?
This concept for this film started with a simple question. "What does it mean to defend one's honor?" From there a lot of research was put into the meaning of honor. Surprising enough, it seemed to have a different meanings in almost every culture in every chapter of human existence. We felt we could make an impact on our audience by discussing what honor means to someone who has no honor by his culture's definition but is willing to stand up for what he believes it to be.
Even though the script is only about fifteen pages, we have put a lot of effort into capturing a moment in pre-revolutionary-war-America. Field of Honor takes place in 1774, just as the colonies begin there revolution from the British Empire. We felt this would heighten the conflict in our much smaller manageable story and set the tone for an exciting 15 min short film.
What We Need & What You Get
This extra cash is the difference between a good movie and a great movie. We are a group of students with a limited budget. What we don't have in cash we make up for in resourcefulness and determination. Talent is overflowing on our crew but we are limited by what we can afford. With the money we collect here we will be able to afford the costumes and sets needed to make this epic film well... EPIC! This money will also be used for the HD scan of or film as we go into post production.
As you may notice all of our perks are cumulative. What that means is the more you give the more you get. We have all kinds of cool Field of Honor merchandise like signed posters and tees to a very collectible stand-in pistol.
