My name is Anna.
I have graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga as a
Bachelor
of Economics and Business Administration and have worked in advertising
industry for several years. After that I have been engaged in several
independent projects and have successfully established my own business.
Since that I have also worked as a VJ and electronic music video
director.
I have come up
with an idea to publish a book of flyers when I was sorting old things, like
books, notebooks etc., out and found a collection of flyers for
electronic music events that took place in Latvia. All of them had a very
distinct design and reminded of the events they were created for. At that
moment I have realised that flyers were playing inalienable part in every
electronic music event and now are a great example of graphic design of the
90s - 00s. They also serve as a reference to Latvian electronic music
culture of that period.
Flyers are not
as widespread as were at those days now. They have been mainly substituted by
electronic "flyers". The collections of people who have given their paper
flyers for scanning amount to about 1000 pieces. All of them have been scanned
by now.
The goal of this fundraising campaign is to collect the remaining 298 euro for the digital preparation
of material for design and designing the book. This second step of the project
assumes the work with the graphic designer, who will be in charge of the final look
of the book.
NB! The indiegogo doesn't allow to run campaings
with target below 500 euro. So, the campaign will be stopped when the
target (298 euro) is reached. The donations above this sum will be
redirected to publishing expenses.
For each
contribution of 30 Euro (delivery worldwide, postal expenses included) or 18 Euro (book is to be picked up in
Riga) you will get a great book of flyers.
No strict
deadlines — the project can
take up to about 1 year. The publication date very much depends on your
participation and you can always check the project status at: https://www.facebook.com/FlyerCollectionBook
Sincerely, and
hope for your support, Anna!
