Hi! My name is Lauren Jordan and I love food! And illustrations! And comics! And in my experience, some of the best food is made by people who also happen to make illustrations and comics. I wanted to make a zine that celebrates food and gives artists the opportunity to express their love of food by sharing their favorite recipes and food-related memories. And so Food Zine! came to be!
Food Zine! will debut at Small Press Expo (SPX) 2013 and will feature the work of the following artists: Adriana Blake, Anthony Clark, Aubrey Aiese, Becca Tobin, Brandon Eaker, Burt Durand, crashsuit, Dale O'Flaherty and Jessi Zabarsky, Daviann "Divi" Morris, Hannah Lee Stockdale, Ian Lawrence, Jenny Lees, Jenny Guan, Jon Marchione, Calamity Jon Morris, Lucie Ebrey, Lyndsey Raney, Matt Cummings, Melissa Shields, Mika Bacani, Mike Horowitz, Morgan Shandro, Natalie Nelson, Noella Whitney, Pam Wishbow, Rachel Dukes, Stephanie Cox, Stevie Wilson, Victoria Grace Elliot, Win Evans, and Zachary Sterling!
What We Need
All funding provided by pre-orders made through this campaign will go towards the printing of the zine itself. All artists receive a free copy of the book regardless, but my ultimate goal is to supply the artists with multiple copies of the zine for them to give away or sell as they wish!
What You'll Get
Food Zine! will feature 60 pages of content from 32 artists! Thats a lot of content and a lot of food love!
- For $5 you get a PDF version of the entire zine.
- For $15 you'll get a physical copy of the zine, to be picked up at SPX, or delivered right to your door if you live in the US or Canada.
- For those of you who reside elsewhere, you can get a copy of Food Zine! mailed to you for an additional $5 (for a total of $20).
- For $50 you will receive not only a copy of Food Zine! but also four food-themed minis: I Want To Eat Everything, I Want To Eat Everything 2, and Stupid Food by Jessi Zabarsky, and No More Canned Biscuits, by yours truly.
When You'll Get It
Food Zine! will debut at SPX 2013 in Bethesda, MD, this September 14th & 15th. Pre-ordered copies will be available there for pick-up, or will be mailed out afterwards. PDF copies will be sent via email immediately after the con.
