This campaign is composed of a first phase:

Phase 1: Patenting. We seek $30,000 to cover the expenses related to legal fees to submit a patent to protect intellectual property. This patent is already supported by scientific research conducted and published in the past 10 years.

If Phase 1 is achieved:

Phase 2: Prototyping. We seek $100,000 to cover the expenses of designing the first algorithm and instrument capable of determining the age of fingerprints at the crime scene.

For Phase 1, no limitations or challenges are anticipated since this is a simple, but expensive, legal step before proceeding with prototyping. For Phase 2, no significant challenges are expected but minor issues might emerge related to software or hardware development, but these could be easily overcome by strong collaborations between industry and academia.
