THE FRENZY STORY
Six college students and one mysterious stranger battle a pack of ferocious werewolves in a secluded cabin.
THE FRENZY MOON is a spinoff of Gregory Lamberson's critically acclaimed werewolf novels The Frenzy Way, The Frenzy War and The Frenzy Wolves, with its own characters and continuity. It's a cabin in the woods/siege horror movie that will feature a diverse young cast, strong characters, and practical special effects for its monsters.

THE FRENZY DIRECTOR
Gregory Lamberson is an author and filmmaker who specializes in horror entertainment. At age 21, he directed the midnight movie cult classic Slime City, which he also wrote. He has directed nine features total, among them Killer Rack, Johnny Gruesome, and Widow’s Point starring Craig Sheffer. Last year he crowdfunded the action movie Guns of Eden, which has been delivered to a distributor for release this year. He is the award-winning author of 15 books, including the “The Frenzy Cycle” werewolf trilogy. Reviews of those novels are located at the bottom of this campaign page. Lamberson knows how to deliver thrilling werewolf action.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
If you're reading this, you're probably a horror movie fan just like I am. I grew up watching the classics, and in high school saw The Howling and An American Werewolf in London first-run at the cinema. You probably know that very few truly good werewolf films have been made since 1981. We probably love the same ones: Ginger Snaps, Bad Moon, Dog Soldiers. I plan to shoot the next film that belongs on that list - a serious, scary werewolf thriller.

I wrote the screenplay THE FRENZY MOON as a "kindred spirit animal" to my novels The Frenzy Way, The Frenzy War and The Frenzy Wolves. The script features different characters, but features the same pulse pounding werewolf action. I had hoped to direct it in the beginning of 2019, but a family health crisis and a global pandemic forced me to postpone - it just wasn't safe to shoot a "cabin in the woods" movie. Instead, I crowdfunded and directed my action film Guns of Eden. My team raised almost 100K for GoE, which we shot a few months later. That film has already been completed, has a distributor, and will be released this year. Every film I start is completed and released by a distributor.

Quality practical special effects are expensive. I’m running this campaign to raise development funds to hire a special effects team to begin creating the werewolves over the summer, to commission an artist whose work I love to create a poster which will interest investors and distributors, and to produce most of our reward perks. The more I raise from fans, the less I’ll need from investors, and the sooner I can begin shooting. I can't do it without you. Let’s make a great monster movie that people will remember for years!
Greg Lamberson

THE FRENZY PRODUCTION
THE FRENZY MOON will be shot in western New York, with seven diverse principal speaking roles, two supporting roles, and three non-speaking roles. The production will utilize practical special effects. We anticipate shooting for 15 days, with some additional days for special effects possible. We do plan to cast a couple of "name" actors in key supporting roles.

THE FRENZY TARGET
We need to raise a minimum of $24,000 to begin pre-production. This is an ambitious monster movie with practical creature effects and gore.

THE FRENZY EXPENDITURES
We’re commissioning fantasy artist Patrick Reilly, who painted the amazing covers for The Frenzy War and The Frenzy Wolves, to create new key art for some of our reward perks, and to attract potential investors and distributors.
We’re hiring Rochester based Ameriscope Pictures – special effects artists John Vincent and Mike Boas – to create our werewolves. "Practical effects" are those which exist in the real world: man-in-suit costumes, animatronic heads for facial expressions, and puppets. These effects require time to sculpt, cast, paint, apply fur and teeth to, etc. The more time our team has, the more cost effective their work will be. This work needs to begin this summer if we want to shoot in the fall.
Perks fulfillment. Our goal is to produce our perks - except for screen credits - before production begins.

THE FRENZY PERKS
Horror fans are the greatest collectors in the world, which is why we’re so excited about our three main reward perks, which are customized to include contributor names.
![]()
Is there a cooler reward perk anywhere, for any crowdfunding campaign, than our Limited Edition, 12" model werewolf kit? We don't think so! Sculpted by special effects artist John Vincent and made of Polyurethane, this awesome model is a throwback to the classic Aurora monster model kits and comes in a collectible box, with a signed certificate of authenticity. Only 50 will be produced!
Lamberson's Signed and Numbered Limited Edition novelization of his screenplay will be available in hardcover and trade paperback editions. Limited edition books have small print runs, making them more valuable to collectors. Only 75 copies of the hardcover edition and 125 copies of the trade paperback edition will be published. Contributors' names will be acknowledged in the book and thanked in the end credits of the movie. Only contributors will have their names included in the book, which will sport a new cover by Patrick Reilly, who painted the gorgeous covers for The Frenzy War and The Frenzy Wolves. The novelization will also include interior illustrations by an artist TBA.
The Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Poster will also feature Patrick Reilly’s new artwork, and the names of contributors who select it will be listed in the credit block (as well as in the credits of the movie, as Supporting Producers.). Each poster will be individually numbered, and contributors will decide if they want it "clean" or signed by Lamberson and the stars of the film. Get it each way!

THE FRENZY REVEWS
All three of Lamberson's "Frenzy Cycle" novels were critically acclaimed, and the first one, The Frenzy Way, won the IPPY Gold Medal for Horror from Independent Publishers. THE FRENZY MOON will bring similar chills, thrills and monster mayhem to the screen. Here is what critics and fellow creators had to say:
“. . . Lamberson’s knack for furiously fast-paced action and the building terror of the graphic and increasingly sexualized murders combine in a surprisingly compelling read for horror fans with strong stomachs.” ~ Publishers Weekly
“Filled with violence and winking paperback-potboiler thrills, The Frenzy Way is a ton of briskly paced, loopy (as in garou) fun.” ~ Chris Alexander, Fangoria
“Gregory Lamberson roars back from last year’s celebrated Stoker nominee Johnny Gruesome with an equally hard-rocking heart stopper, The Frenzy Way. . . . Magnificently crafted, The Frenzy Way screams across the pages with pitch-perfect characterization and plotting, not to mention some exquisitely well-done graphic gore. ~ Countgore.com
“Wow. Just wow. The Frenzy Way might prove one of the most significant pieces of lycanthrope literature in years.” ~ Radiation-Scarred Reviews
"The action sequences are well conceived and play out cinematically. . . . The Frenzy War further solidifies Gregory Lamberson as one the defining writers in contemporary horror." —Where the Dead Fear to Tread
“Lamberson provides rich characterization and a multilayered plot along with the obligatory gore. Together with a few speculative flourishes about werewolves’ shape-shifting origins, Lamberson’s clever plot twists make this a nice little werewolf yarn—relief, as it were, from the current glut of vampire fiction.” ~ Booklist
“There is plenty of blood and gore, as Lamberson is amazing at combining a gritty crime drama with blood-soaked horror." ~ Monster Librarian
“The brisk action and lurid scenes of death and dismemberment produce a lively page-turner with an unusually balanced approach to its monsters, unexpected in a tale that’s equal parts police procedural and blood-drenched horror.” ~ Publishers Weekly
“For a while I thought I was watching a movie and not reading a novel, because it was so vivid. The Frenzy Way is a must read for horror fans and action fans alike.” ~ Elder Signs Press
“. . . combines popular werewolf legends with American Indian myths to produce a delightfully gory horror novel. . . . A solid addition to werewolf literature.” ~ Library Journal
"Frenzy is the operative word in these books, as Lamberson writes with a rough pen, hammering out the monster mash action (vaguely quoting the Underworld films and Wolfen) and slamming it up against hard-boiled no-bullshit Serpico-styled cop thriller melodrama." ~ Chris Alexander, Fangoria
"The narrative in The Frenzy Way is gutsy. Gregory Lamberson kills off some likeable and admirable characters and incorporates much information, factual as well as fabricated. Possessing spirited action scenes and distinctive dialogue, the novel penetrates the psyche of a terrorist and comprehends the psychology of terror. It’s like taking a savagely wild walk—in animal form." ~ Hellnotes.com
“The Frenzy Way is an awesome blend of police procedural and bloody werewolf action. It’s easily Lamberson’s best novel—and I loved his first two!” ~ Jeff Strand, Bram Stoker Award-Nominated Author of Pressure and Dweller
“Lamberson makes it very apparent that he's in charge of the story and that it doesn't merely evolve into something formulaic. Instead, the writer turns every convention on its head and gives you something breathtakingly fresh and new.” ~ Paperback Horror
"It will have you double-checking your doors and windows on the next full moon." ~ Last Chance Lance, Rue Morgue
“The Frenzy Way is a grinning, snapping chainsaw of a novel, so grab some heavy gloves and eye protection and hang on for a fast, fun ride.” ~Jeff Jacobson, Author of Wormfood
“The Frenzy Way is horror at its absolute best!” ~ Gabrielle S. Faust, Author of Eternal Vigilance
“Fast-paced, bloody, sexy, and brutal, this is Lamberson at his best." ~ Scott A. Johnson, Dread Central
“The author of Johnny Gruesome and Personal Demons puts forward a fresh examination of lycanthropes and offers readers something brand new. . . The Frenzy Way is definitely a cut above other werewolf novels." ~ Dark Scribe Magazine
“The Frenzy Way is completely enthralling. The book shifts from frightening, gruesome, sexy, and suspenseful seamlessly.” ~ Destroy The Brain!
"Lamberson's third and final Frenzy Cycle installment (after The Frenzy War) is an engrossing tale that can stand on its own. . . . The story unfolds smoothly, the plot is riveting." ~ Publishers Weekly
"Like the two novels proceeding it, The Frenzy Wolves is written at a breakneck (full pun intended) pace, is full of action and twists, and features an edge-of-your-seat scene inside an elevator shaft. Fun stuff whether you're a werewolf fan or not." ~ Nick Cato, The Horror Fiction Review
