Hi Everyone,
Our names are Josh, Alisa, Steph, Jeff, Meghan, and Ryan and we are film students working on a documentary for our senior project at Quinnipiac University.
“From Batey to Baseball: The Amaury Telemaco Story” strives to document baseball player Amaury Telemaco’s childhood hardships, his baseball career, and his current mission work to improve his hometown. Telemaco overcame struggles that included being abandoned by his parents at age 11, and he continued to pursue his dream of becoming a Major League baseball player until it became a reality. Now living and working in the Dominican Republic as a pitching recruiter for the Boston Red Sox, Telemaco also runs a baseball camp for the youth of the area. He is making it his life’s work to give back to his community and inspire hope in the lives of its citizens.
Unfortunately, we were not provided with any funds for the making of this documentary. We are traveling on our own to the Dominican. Your contributions will help us with our travel expenses (airfare, food, and lodging) and production expenses. If there are any leftover funds, all proceeds will go to the cause Amaury Telemaco supports.
Our group is required to travel to the Dominican Republic twice, if not three times. Each trip will require three group members, airfare expenses, car rentals, translators, food, lodging, and more. We are also required to provide production equipment such as large high quality hard drives, batteries, memory cards, and other miscellaneous items.
We want to truly thank you in advance for all the support you give us. If you aren't able to donate to our project, there are other ways you can help. Please spread the word with your family and friends. You can share this link (www.indiegogo.com/bateytobaseball) and our facebook page (www.facebook.com/bateytobaseball). We will be continuously updating our audience with posts and pictures of our progress with the documentary.
We greatly appreciate your support!
