Call it the anti-HAIR and the anti-BIG CHILL: these kids have haircuts and their later selves are not chilled – just older, maybe wiser or maybe a little world-weary. FSM takes 60’s politics seriously. It celebrates the joy, moral purpose, newborn freedom and occasional absurdity of being young, part of a movement and passionately political, from a distance that takes account of the consequences.
The show - produced by Stagebridge Senior Theatre - has had some great support from the Bay Area theatre community. FSM was developed through a workshop at the 2013 Bay Area Playwrights Festival and the 2014 Ground Floor program at Berkeley Repertory Theatre,
We've had help from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Rex Foundation, the East Bay Fund for Artists, Fleishhacker Foundation, The Mario Savio Memorial Fund of Tides Foundation, and Stephen M. Silberstein. But we're still short of what we need, so we're turning to you, dear friends: please help us bring the show to our community this Fall! Your donations help us support our team of talented artists.
