About Winterblast Halls and the planned release of "Endstation" by Garden of Grief
Winterblast Halls is a community label run by musicians. The idea behind the label is similar to the principle that the workers shall own the means of industrial production: the artists shall control the means of cultural production. By working together with other musicians instead of a third party it is possible to combine the benefits of self-production with the benefits of working with a label without suffering from the negative aspects that are inherent to these two usual options.
"Endstation", the 5th full-length album of the Austrian black metal project GARDEN OF GRIEF is planned to be released in 2014. We want to produce this album with good quality and special material. A lot of underground releases come in a standard jewelcase with a standard 8 page or even only 4 page booklet although the music would deserve to be presented differently. Of course an exclusive production costs quite a lot more than a basic jewelcase and that is exactly where we need YOU to help!
What you will get...
With YOUR help, we will produce the album "Endstation" with following specifications:
-
pressed CD in transparent jewelcase
- raw offset paper booklet, 12 or 16 pages
- artwork drawn by "Hostile.Takeover" design studio
- over-funding bonus 1: raw cardboard case to insert the jewelcase (2500€)
- over-funding bonus 2: relief print on the cardboard case
- over-funding bonus 3: alternative album version ON TAPE including synths by Bendor Blackwolf added to every CD order
If the funding project is successful the album will automatically be available on all 3 Winterblast Halls divisions in Europe, Canada and the USA!
In addition you can get exclusive items as "perks" in this funding project. Some of those items will only be available for people who back the funding on idiegogo and all of them would not be produced at all under other circumstances!
Why you should back the funding project:
We need you to help in funding this release because it should not be yet another standard underground black metal CD in standard packaging with standard material. Yes, music is the most important, but a great release must have the perfect combination of music, artwork and production - this is what we want to achieve! The raw paper would perfectly fit the overall design of the cover and booklet and it would be a shame if we weren't able to use it for this release (and it's fucking expensive compared to normal paper).
If the project fails, the release of "Endstation" would at least be delayed for quite a while again. It would then most certainly not be produced in the exclusive way described above. Holding it back until a funding project finally works is a realistic option in that case. So if you want the time of waiting between the 4th and the 5th Garden of Grief full-length to end, you should consider backing this funding project!
How to support if you are not able to take part in the funding on Indiegogo.com:
If you feel there's no way for you to support this release by pledging money, you can of course just help by spreading the news about this. As there's only a short time in which people can pledge money in this project we need any help we can get to promote it.
If you have neither a credit card nor PayPal you won't be able to pledge money here on indiegogo. You could try to ask a close person with a PayPal account to pledge for you instead...it's the best method.
Also for people who are in direct contact with Garden of Grief and Winterblast Halls: if you want to support, help with the funding on this page - anything else (for example "I will get it when the album is out then" or "I'll give you the money personally") won't help with the release.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
