Short Summary
"Good": Rock for a new generation.
gemtones’ new project, "Good", is an authentic glimpse of Nicole Gemmiti’s emotional interior life, while allowing a window into the shared experiences of queer and female-identifying people. On the record, she wrestles with heavy personal experiences; queerness, heartbreak, mental illness, and emotional empowerment. Coupled with raunchy guitar and a driving rhythm section, "Good" is a testament to the power of artistic transformation and invites the listener to laugh in the face of pain. gemtones is the female-fronted rock sound for our modern era.
What We Need & What You Get
While this project has already been recorded and is in its final stages of preparation before it's officially released, the artists and creatives who spent so much of their valuable time to create it have not been compensated financially. They all did this out of the goodness of their hearts, but they deserve the compensation that's rightfully theirs! Nicole has also paid out of her own pocket for professional promotional and album art photos, and will need funding for professional mastering for the final mixes of the record. Unfortunately, being in college, we are all struggling to come up with that funding. This is where we need your help!
The Impact
Your donation will help solidify the fact that musicians and creatives' work is just as valid and important as that of any other profession. This record was a long and involved process involving many dedicated people and we'd like nothing more than to give the contributors to the creation of this art everything they're deserved!
Your donation will directly be put towards:
- Compensation for instrumentalists, producers, and engineers who worked on this record
- Payment for professional audio mastering
- Payment for professional artist photos that were taken for this record
- Merchandise costs
