The Story
Morgue-an, a ghost from the 13th century, currently lives with her roomate Stephanie in the modern day. Stephanie shows Morgue-an her favorite TV show, which she has the box copies of, and Morgue-an is hooked. She tries to binge watch the show, however Stephanie's human antics, such as sleeping and going to work, prevent her. Morgue-an quickly learns when she tries to change the disk that she cannot interact with technology. Morgue-an brainstorms and gets creative (and a little destructive) in her attempt to continue watching.
What's Special?
Ghosted changes the general norms for a sci-fi by combining it with sit-com humor. The short will be filmed as a sit-com, utilizing a similar color pallete and aesthetic to the popular sit-coms. Usually in films with a ghost or sci-fi element, the mood is dark and on the scary side, whereas Ghosted starts lighthearted and keeps up the spirits (pun intended).

The Impact
When writing and then putting together the crew for Ghosted, we knew we wanted to promote females in the film industry. We are proud to say that the crew of Ghosted is 80% female with every key occupied by a woman. Several of these women also identify as queer in some way, including the director. We are film students and so we hope to set an example to our peers locally and worldwide with the success of this film.

The Team
Director - Emily Stevenson
Emily's interest in film began when she was fairly young. Each weekend, her family would get takeout and watch a movie together as an end-of-the-week chill time. Slowly but surely, film began to invade her everyday thoughts, and, in middle school, she realized that this could actually be a viable career. As Emily got older, her fascination with movies and television grew and grew, until eventually she decided that this was indeed what she wanted to devote her life to doing. After spending the majority of her life in Colorado, Emily ventured west to Southern California to learn more about the film industry and begin making her own way in the world. As a student at Loyola Marymount University, Emily has been given many opportunities to strengthen her passion for film and explore parts of it that she did not even know were available. Now that she is in her third year at LMU, Emily is ready to make her own film and tell the kind of story she fell in love with all those years ago.
