Did you know that each year, 1 in 6 people will be victims of a violent crime?
Everyone deserves care and help, whether they can afford it or not
At Broadway Unlocked, we want to #giveback to the organizations who work tirelessly to help survivors of violent crime.
So, from now until Tuesday February 23, 2016, we'll be bringing theatre-lovers around the world together to raise funds an organization that provides free treatment, therapy and services to survivors of violent crime - the Crime Victims Treatment Center of NY, as well as similar organizations around the country, like MOCSA in Kansas City, MO.
WHO ARE WE?
![]()
We are theatre geeks. Technology nerds. Actors, musicians, designers, writers, photographers, theatre-goers, lovers of the arts.
And we're part of a passionate community that can
make a difference.
Did you know that each year, 1 in 6 people will be victims of a violent crime? That's crazy. Just think about your Facebook friends... it's extremely likely that it's affected every single one of us, personally or through those we love. In fact, so many of our friends and family have been impacted by assault, abuse and/or violence, we made a short video about it
So we joined up with Google Fiber and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to launch the Broadway Unlocked #giveback Campaign & Concert.
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US?
It means a so much to us that you are willing to speak up for survivors, and raise money for the organizations that support them.
So we want to do a little something for you!
We're putting on a rockin' Broadway Benefit Concert on Monday February 22 - and we're streaming live, in real time on YouTube - so all of you guys who us raise $25,000 can join us "on Broadway", for free and from the comfort of your own home!
Here's a little peak at what you can expect!
Check out the awesome talent we have lined up so far - and stay tuned here. We'll keep updating performers as they join up for the concert!
Featuring star of ABC’s Nashville, Kyle Dean Massey,Ali Stroker, star of Glee and Spring Awakening with Bobby Cronin, winners of Britain’s Got Talent, musical theatre boyband Collabro and international Elphaba Dee Rosicioli with Kait Kerrigan & Brian Lowdermilk, star of the feature film Into the Wood Lilla Crawford with writers of the upcoming Broadway show Tuck Everlasting Nathan Tysen & Chris Miller, Smash songwriter Drew Gasparini and his band Saint Adeline, Taylor Louderman, Krystina Alabado and Spencer Kiely with writer Joey Contreras, a sneak peek at the upcoming Broadway show Nerds with composer Hal Goldberg

One Last Note
The #giveback campaign & concert is the only significant source of non-restricted funding for the Crime Victims Treatment Center. So in addition to helping keep one of the most important survivor services programs operating (oh, just that), you're helping to provide money that can be used to do things like:
- Continue to fund the CVTC Volunteer Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Emergency Room Advocate Program, that provides immediate assistance to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence - ensuring they receive compassionate and knowledgeable care and support in the ER
- Provide integral non-restricted emergency funds to survivors. Past year’s funds helped purchase furniture for a woman and her two toddlers who had escaped a life-threatening partner and found a safe apartment of their own, clothing for rape survivors whose clothing must be kept for evidence, emergency transportation for people fleeing abusive partners, and many other necessary things to which survivors normally have limited or no access
You've helped us raise over $125,000 for organizations like CVTC and MOCSA over the past five years. That's INCREDIBLE!
And this year is going to be our
biggest year yet.
Thank you for donating - and be sure to keep your eyes out for updates from the campaign! We'll be putting out a daily vlog on our road to the #giveback concert, and we've got lots of cool mini-funding challenges with awesome rewards - you won't want to miss it!
See you at the #giveback concert!
