Thank You!!!
Thank you so much to everyone who helped us reach our goal in one day!!! Wow! Your support has been amazing, and we are so thankful for your generosity!
Indiana's travelling and competition expenses are on-going, and we anticipate that she will be competing at the US Regional, Divisional, and hopefully the National comps for route climbing (which is coming up later this year). So we are going to leave this campaign running and continue to add perks, and all donations will go into an account for her US climbing adventures!
Thank you again! You are all incredible sponsors for Indiana, and she is so thankful, and so are we!
A Little Background
When the governing body for Canadian competitive climbing
cancelled Category D (11 years old and under) for Regionals and Nationals this
year, the would-be defending National champ decided to look elsewhere.
Indiana Chapman, a ten-year-old climber out of True North Climbing in Toronto, asked mom and dad why she couldn’t compete at Canadian Nationals
again this year. There was no good
answer to be given. Undeterred, Indiana
asked mom and dad another: “Could I try competing in the US this year?” That was back in September 2013. Since then Indiana has been chauffeured over
the border eight times, and competed in four ABS (American Bouldering Series)
Competitions, including Regionals and most recently, Divisionals, held in
Iowa. Indiana brought home a gold medal from
each.
With the win at Divisionals came an invitation to the ABS Youth Nationals, held in Colorado Springs this February. As committed as Indiana is, getting there may
not be so easy. As a competitor in both
Canada and the US this year, the travelling and competition expenses are
starting to add up. A single income
family, mom and dad are doing everything they can to support Indiana as she has
literally climbed to the top of the rankings in two countries.
What Indiana needs right now is what the Canadian climbing
scene needs as well: support. This sport
is growing quickly, and the athletes it is producing are some of the best in
the world. Supporting these young
climbers is literally the key to the future of this exciting sport, and now is
the perfect time to get behind them.
Your Donation
Indiana will be the only Canadian female at these US Nationals, and she really wants to give those Americans a friendly little nudge from their Northern neighbours! To make it happen, we really need your support! Any donation you make will go towards 2 return flights to Colorado Springs, for Indiana and her coach, five nights in a cheap hotel, and the competition fees. Indiana will compete
over three days (Feb 28 - March 2) before returning home… Hopefully with a medal!
Other Ways You Can Help
If you have anything that you would like to donate to our GO! GO! INDI "perks," (goods or services) that would be awesome! You can also support Indiana
by helping us get the word out! Our hope
is that Indiana will know what it’s like to have a community (and maybe even a country)
in her corner!
