My team of 12, including me, are extremely excited to have been chosen to be a part of a Fordham program called Global Outreach (GO!) Romania. We have been holding weekly meetings and reflecting on the service that we hope to accomplish while we are away for 2 weeks. During our time at Romania, we will be cooperating with the Victor Babes Hospital, which works to help those afflicted with HIV/AIDS, Together in Life's Path, which coordinates homeless outreach, and Casa Alexandria, which manages several different orphanages throughout the city. My team will be splitting our two weeks' time amongst these three organizations, with the goal of learning as much as we can by those afflicted by injustices in Romania.
As you can imagine, a project like this requires a lot of time and effort, as well as monetary contributions. For these, I am relying on my family and friends to support me. The total cost for this trip is $1,700. This cost will cover all travel, food, and accommodations for me for 2 weeks in Romania. I need to meet this cost fully in order to participate, and I really need your help. Anything you could give me would be wonderful.
Personally, I am starting on a path to new understanding global injustices and what my part in them plays. I am hoping to develop character through simple living while I am abroad. I am also hoping to grow in my spirituality and build a strong connection with those in Romania. I hope that you will choose to help me as I set off on a quest of personal discovery.
As I said, $1,700 will fund me throughout my whole time in Romania. If you would like to support me individually, you can easily donate through this website, and I thank you enormously in advance for your generosity. If you have any questions at all about the process or logistics of the program, feel free to e-mail me at alee66@fordham.edu. I am grateful for any amount ($25, $50, $100 – whatever you feel!) that you can contribute to this wonderful cause.
