Short Summary
John Mossman is an award-winning Actor/Writer/Director based in Chicago. The script for "Good Guy with a Gun" came from his response to the capital riots in January 2021. Kevin Cooper, Producer, came on board immediately and began pre-production for the film in Spring 2021.
Gun culture is woven into American culture in many ways. Guns spark intense debates with strong moral high-grounds on all sides of the issue. "Good Guy with a Gun" is a film with the intension of breaking down the walls built in hot debate, and instead, build bridges between ideas and communities. John and Kevin believe our country needs stories and artists who are willing to explore this issue from a place of no judgement and honesty. Our country needs healing, and this film aspires to be a springboard for thoughtful discussion on such a serious national topic.

Independent films come with their financial challenges. This story requires car chases, fist fights, and rifle range scenes all which require safety, experts, and funding. Filming during a pandemic also comes with a large financial burden. COVID tests are administered daily. COVID safety supplies demand funding as well. Here is a list of some of the unexpected expenses we still need to cover:
-Delta variant COVID testing/supplies
-Car repairs (and there have been many so far)
-First aid, sun screen, bug repellent, ice, etc.
-Stunts and special effects
-Music Licensing
