"Graffiti d'Italia" is a 35+ page photojournalism experience. This collection of photographs by Lindsay Barrasse was taken throughout Italy in July 2018 of graffiti throughout the streets of Rome, Naples, Venice, Florence, and Pompeii. Noticing the ancient architecture covered by the art form of graffiti Lindsay couldn't help but be mezmorized by the old meeting the new. She was engulfed by the red writings and graffiti art of Pompeii being unearthed showing the similarity of the world that once was to that of the world today. This form of expression sure caught Lindsay's eye and she wanted to share this photojournalistic style of storytelling with you.

La Ripartizione (The Breakdown)

To break it down the reason why I am going the 'fundraising' route is I am self publishing. The cost of the perks are the cost of the retail value of the poster prints, cards... etc... and the price of the books are pretty much at cost.

This campaign gives me a good idea of how many books I should order. It is like a book pre-order if you will. I set my goal for $2,500 which would get me about 65 books printed. However the funding is flexible so if you pre-order you book, the funds raised will be received, the book will be printed, and arrive on your door step for October!

A unique perk is I have the available to add YOUR name to the 'Thank You' section of this book. If you would not only like to purchase a book but show your support and get a bunch of other limited edition goodies you can purchase The Grande Pacchetto or The Pacchetto Medio.

The Impact!

Controversies that surround graffiti continue to create disagreement. Some wish to display and appreciate work in public locations, i.e. city murals. There are many different types and styles of graffiti; it is a rapidly developing art form whose value is highly contested and reviled by many authorities while also subject to protection. If we look back to the graffiti of Pompeii we learned something from those words and pictures scribbled on the walls. We learned from cave paintings how people lived. Maybe someday, the people of the future will know about how we, the everyday people, lived through our writings on the walls.

When will I get my book, goodies, etc?

This campaign will run for 15 days. Once over, I will adjust the Thank You section of the book and place a bulk printing order. The book will take about a week processing time for printing, then a 3-5 business days for the company to ship to me. Once I receive everything - I will ship out right away. You should have your book/package in the beginning of October 2018. 

For those ordering just cards and posters or making a donation - you should receive you item(s) mid September.

There is a lot of love in this book. Not only did I make sure that I framed things just right, or took time taking each photo, I designed each element, each layout, and the feel of each of the book's pages. 

This is not just my art. It is photographic evidence of a beautiful expression. An expression of art, of love, of personal believes, culture, rebellion, unity... an expression of so much. The ultimate beautiful of a graffiti piece is we never know how long it will exists.
