“Grass Lake” is a feature film about four long time friends who find themselves in the middle of a drug deal gone wrong. What starts out as a guy's weekend quickly turns into a weekend riddled with backstabbing, betrayal and lies.
Have you ever been faced with a life altering decision? Or had something at your fingertips that could help make all the wrongs in your life disappear? Would you take it if it meant loosing friendships or other people’s lives? These are the questions that are posed in “Grass Lake”, a thriller where friend’s relationships, good judgment and integrity are put to the test.
Produced by Jane Kelly Kosek and Jade DeCosta (www.wonderentertainment.com), Directed by Jacob Cooney (www.jacobcooney.com), Written by Brandon Trenz and shot by Cinematographer Robert Morris (www.romocam.com), this independent thriller will pack a punch and keep you at the edge of your seat. Throughout the last ten years, each member of the “Grass Lake” team has amassed an impressive resume within the independent and Hollywood scenes. Having worked consistently for so long, we feel joining forces, will produce an outcome that everyone will love. As we all know, filmmaking in general is a group effort, but when it comes to independent filmmaking, that statement is the gospel. It’s an “all hands on deck” process, where everyone does everything, and the need for creativity and thinking outside the box is a must.
Currently our team is working hard to finalize the script. Immediately after locking our final draft, we will begin the process of locking in a cast of recognizable and fresh names, as well as reaching out to potential investors and fans of independent film for support. As already mentioned, Independent film is an “all hands on deck” process, so anything you can do to lend a hand to make “Grass Lake” happen would be much appreciated. In exchange for you support, we are giving fans and supporters a chance to be a part of our film through several different options, which range from getting your name in the film’s credits (depending on contribution level), to receiving a DVD copy of the finished film and even possibly an invitation to attend a special screening and/or after party of the film.
Our goal is to shoot “Grass Lake” in the summer of 2011 on a small, secluded lake, called Ruth Lake, which is nestled in the mountains of Northern California. After production and post, we will then embark on the process of releasing the film, which will include a festival run.
At this time, we are looking to meet our goal of $5,000 for Development Funding for the film. This money will go towards any location scout travel expenses (gas, flights, housing, food) and materials (CD/DVD Stock, Office supplies) for the filmmakers as the development and pre-production process begins.
From the crew and future cast of “Grass Lake”, we cannot thank you enough for your interest and support, both in the film itself and independent filmmaking as a whole.
