I am a full-time actress in the SF/LA area. I have performed in numerous award-winning films and commercials as well as on stage in The Vagina Monologues. Before my creative career, I chose a career in Technology as a programmer, quickly moving into sales and management; a successful career that led me from Toronto to Brussels and now California. Fed up with ageism, and a misogynistic culture, I left tech in 2015 and dedicated myself to acting. Through aggressive training and experience, my talent and love of acting have flourished. You can find more about me at: www.germainegaudet.com.
I am passionate about supporting women of all ages. Throughout my life, I have inspired and mentored the next generation of young women and men and led and supported women in the workforce. I am a self-starter and an entrepreneur and have excellent leadership and marketing skills and I continue to have a curiosity for learning.

I am a woman about that age who understands that feeling that women our age feel - the loss of youth coupled, for some, with the loss of partners who would be there and make us feel we still matter. Many women above 50 struggle to be seen as viable professionals as well as sexual partners. There’s ageism in the workplace and there’s ageism in life. But many women don’t feel that life ends here. A whole new chapter opens as we cross certain ages and it can be just as exciting as the days of our youth.
This goes beyond one film or one festival - we want to create a social change in the way women over 50 are viewed and particularly how they are portrayed in the media. In our way, this is feminism at its best.

My goal is to showcase older women in a different light by showing that women at any age can be vital, vibrant, and sexy. In the media, older women are often portrayed as bitches or worse invisible, without vitality and worth. While those stories exist, they are not the only stories. By telling the tale of an older woman that focuses on her journey from suicide to lightness we can show that older women have much to offer in life for those vital years of her life.
Media shapes our thoughts and actions. Through film, I want to shape a world where people see older women as beautiful, intelligent, and worthy. I believe that by doing so, we can bridge the gap between all ages and demonstrate that older women are vital in business and in life. With your contributions, we can not only make this film, but we can take it to festivals around the world.
The more people see older women as vital, the more comfortable they will be ensuring they continue to work and thrive in life by being valued and offering all the vitality and intelligence they possess.
We tell the story of GREEK PHILOSOPHIA AND CHICKENS through the lens of humor, a device that diffuses tension and opens the way for discussion. There is nothing funny about suicide, of course. What is funny is… life. And how things change. That’s why we have hope. And that’s a great message to pass on to our audience.

As a mature actress, Germaine has been working on a film concept to showcase mature women as attractive, vibrant, and sexy. She was so thrilled to meet Despina who wrote the perfect screenplay and introduced Aimiende and voila the team was formed. Germaine was a model in her early 20s in Toronto while she had chosen a career in Computer Science starting as a programmer and quickly moving into sales and management, a successful career that led her from Toronto, Canada to Brussels, Belgium, and Silicon Valley, California. In 2015, she dedicated herself to acting and through aggressive training and experience, her talent and love of acting have flourished. She has appeared in numerous award-winning films in lead and supporting roles and in commercials. She has a supporting role in COMPLEXITY (coming out in 2022), a film written, produced, and directed by Brandon Leake, poet and America’s Got Talent 2020 winner. She also performed in THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES in early 2020.

Despina (Denise) was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. Defying her parents, she came to the US alone as an undergraduate to study political science and, funny thing, learned a few other things, too. Like how to catch flying swords, when she performed as a Magician’s Assistant at Bermuda’s Hamilton Princess nightclub. Or, how never to trust Americans bearing ‘brownies’ or… eat five of them in a row. Lucky, her mother never found out any of that especially because Despina went on to become a serious person.
Despina received her first MA in International Relations and later, a second MA in Criminology from the University of Toronto. She has worked in the New York State Legislature as Chief of Staff/Legislative Director for two New York State Senators and in Canadian TV as Writer, Associate Producer, and On-Air Anchor. She’s a second-degree Black belt. Basketball Coach. Proud mother of two amazing daughters. Lives between Thessaloniki and New York. Despina loves bullet-points because they make everything look more impressive.
Despina writes stories that explore love, feminism, and religion, featuring independent female protagonists in complicated family dynamics who seek to live life on their own terms. In other words, she writes about women. Cinema is escapist and that is why she gravitates toward writing Fantasy. She also loves writing Action and Comedy and anything that results from growing up in Greece, the myths she adored as a kid, or being a Greek in America.
An optioned writer, Despina is a Stowe Story Labs alum and her scripts have placed in numerous competitions such as Austin Film Festival, Story Pros, Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, LA Femme International Film Festival, the Cinestory Foundation Fellowship, Screencraft Comedy Competition, as well as in the top 15% at the Academy Nicholl Fellowships.
GREEK PHILOSOPHIA AND CHICKENS is an ode on female desire for sexuality, inspired by Despina’s grandmother who, at 90, felt as sexy as ever and reminded young Despina often — also mortified her, the girl was only 12! — that ‘the old chicken’s got the juice.’
