Now in its third year, the Immersive Haunted House offers the opportunity for artists across campus to come together to create a massive, multi-faceted spectacle. A combination of theatrics, dance, and circus acrobatics (As performed by the Surrealist Training Circus), our production celebrates the diverse talents of Bard students and our mutual affinity for the ghoulish. Inspired by the Grimm Fairytales, this year's show will feature several eerie adaptations of classic tales turned terrifying.
As theatre artists, we have found a welcoming and warm home here at Bard College, and especially in the student-run theatrical space, The Old Gym. The annual Halloween show was the first piece we were involved in at Bard, and to be producing it now and carrying on this time honored tradition is a true thrill. We have amassed a company of passionate artists, all focused on creating a memorable, meaningful, and fun experience for the Bard community. We are driven and deeply motivated by our desire to produce the highest quality production as possible.
This year, our student directors are devising adaptations of Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Little Red Riding Hood, Rumpelstiltskin, and Peter Pan and his Shadow. Currently we are raising money to pay for the materials necessary to mount the production.
The money we raise will enable us to buy the following: Curtains (necessary to build the individual rooms which the adaptations will take place in) Costumes. Make-up. Crucial building supplies (nails, tools, paint). Props. All of the money we raise will be spent go towards buying necessary supplies for the show. Without the help of donations, we simply do not have the resources to see this show through.
Any and all donations are extremely appreciated. Please feel free to spread the word about Grimm Haus as well! We will premiere October 27th and 28th in the Old Gym!
