The Story
Jerome and Maxwell are trying to make a quick couple of bucks by selling an item with they claim to be the actual fetus of a mermaid- which they claim has mystical properties. All is going well until they earn the ire of a real life mermaid named Lemaris. After an unfortunate first encounter, she decides she’s going to help them, as long as she can get a cut.
The Production
Half Fish stars the beautiful Marlo Musiel as the Mermaid in question, with Christian Waidei and Andrew Dameron as the intrepid con artists. Together, the will enter a beautifully realized medieval world full of fantasy, black comedy, and Romance in a very unusual film.
Sets have been built from the ground up, with expert fashion design from Jessica Smith, and Eric Durhame (http://www.themertailor.com ). The world has gone from script to set with the help of Production Designer Amber Workman (www.screamdreams.com) as well as set builders Marjester Rucker and Daniel Joseph. Putting frame to film is director of Photography Jonathon Cohon (http://jhcprod.com/). The film will be directed by Matt Pniewski. This is his fourth short film, and at a projected 19 minutes, it is also the longest.
Filming will take place in June, 2010
