Two best friends coming together to pursue a life long dream of bringing people together.
In 2019 Happy Monday started out in Josiah Davie's basement in Saint Paul, Minnesota as a small pottery brand. Three years later, in 2022, dreams started getting bigger & Josiah joined forces with Justin Bloom to create Happy Monday & Company bringing pottery & coffee together.
Working in the speciality coffee industry for 7+ years, Justin has experience as both a barista and espresso machine technician. Beyond active cafe roles he has trained baristas and built out coffee programs for a number of other businesses.
With many years of experience in commercial content creation, Josiah, also brings experience with social media management, communications, event coordination, branding, & of course, ceramics.

"Where everyone knows your name!" Happy Monday & Co. isn't just another speciality coffee shop in Minneapolis, it's a second home. A place where, when you walk in, you immediately feel known & loved. A place where creativity, connection, inspiration, curiosity & just good ole friendship will thrive! We really can't wait!
Over the last 8 months we've been doing pop ups for different art festivals and events. More recently we built a mobile coffee cart which has been so fun to see the dream come true, in even a small way. Over the summer we had a residency at a local distillery where we popped up every Friday & Saturday which was a beautiful proof of concept. Truly over only a few short months, a community was born: a third space for people to work, rest, see friends, & dream together!

BUT THATS NOT ALL, FOLKS...
The big dream is to open up a retail space... where we can foster creativity, connection, hospitality, curiosity, & family! Where strangers become friends & neighbors become companions. Not only a place with killer coffee, but also a pottery studio where we will host classes and events!
We've been on the lookout for a space... & WE FOUND ONE!
but we need your help to get there.
The Nitty-Gritty
To be transparent, the total start up cost to launch Happy Monday is about $400,000. Through this crowdfunding campaign we are only trying to fundraise $75,000, which will help us put a sizable downpayment on a loan to get it all going!
The breakdown of what things are going to cost:
$20,000 - Pottery Studio Equipment
$85,000 - Cafe' Equipment
$83,000 - Build Out Cost
$52,000 - Pottery Studio Build Out
$16,657 - Upfront Lease Signing (3 Months Rent)
$30,000 - Start Up Supplies and inventory
$51,868 - 2 months of employee wages
$50,000 - FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment)
The $75,000 will cover the down payment for the total loan in addition to private investment that we receive as well.
