Hello!
My name is Ilya Naishuller, last year I made an action packed short film called BAD MOTHERFUCKER, maybe you've seen it? If not, check it out below:
It got over 40M views, and thousands of messages and comments from people saying things like ‘this is awesome’, ‘I can’t wait for a feature like this!’, ‘make more of this please!’. Among those people was Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the ‘Night Watch ’ series and ‘Wanted ’.
He proposed to produce a feature length version shot in the same POV style and have me direct it. Even though I've been eagerly awaiting a shot at directing a feature, at first I turned him down, believing that it was a gimmicky idea that couldn't possibly work on the big screen.
Timur's reply was "Don't you want to see a POV film in a cinema?"
I said "Yes."
"Well then, think about it. If anyone can make this work, it's you."
That sentence kicked me into gear and within a week, the concept for what was to become the world's first action adventure film was born. Now, a year and a half later, we've got it shot and edited. It's called Hardcore, and it's one hell of an experience.

HARDCORE is a modern, action Sci-Fi story about HENRY, a newly resurrected cyborg who must save his wife/creator ESTELLE (Haley Bennet) from the clutches of a psychotic tyrant with telekinetic powers, AKAN (Danila Kozlovsky), and his army of mercenaries. Fighting alongside Henry is JIMMY (Sharlto Copley), who is Henry's only hope to make it through the day. Hardcore takes place over the course of one day, in Moscow, Russia and it's all shot in the same style as BAD MOTHERFUCKER to be released in cinemas worldwide.

For those of you who haven’t clicked the video yet (and I highly recommend you do), this is the first feature film shot almost entirely on a GoPro, using a custom designed camera rig that allows for a very natural and intensely personal experience.
I feel really confident about HARDCORE because it puts you in the place of the protagonist, and YOU BECOME HIM as you experience the journey together in a very personal way.

You've never experienced a feature film like this before:
Every once in a while, a film will come along that will help ‘re-invent’ a particular genre for a new generation. I believe that Hardcore has a solid shot at pulling this off.
We’d like to offer you a little bit of that experience now.

Short answer: Yes it is shot, but we need just a little more to finish it while keeping it in our creative control.
Long answer: The film has been shot and edited. We are about to enter the next stage, post-production. We are crowdfunding for additional funds to complete the film to the highest standard possible.
From the early days of pre-production, we knew that sooner or later, we'd have to turn to either the money men or to crowdfunding to complete the film. I decided that I would be ready to crowdfund, but only once the film is shot and I like what I see. That time has come.
What we need to do is to make sure that the final look and feel of the Hardcore isn't dictated by the terms of it's distribution, but rather by the people who put thousands of hours into making it happen.
HARDCORE explored a new style of film making that involved the creation of specialty gear, and more importantly, the re-learning of their respective craft by everyone involved in this unique deviation from the standard shooting process. We had an amazing crew, great actors and producers. Each gave their all for Hardcore to succeed during the trial and error that we faced every day on this project together.

So, here is where we ask for your help. For $250,000 we can FINISH THIS FILM and get it into the hands of you, the movie-going-public.

What if you raise MORE then the $250,000?
To be honest, $250,000 is the MINIMUM that we need in order to even see this film into completion. Any more that we raise outside of that will go directly into making the CGI effects and sound that much more well designed and professional.
For example, for $500,000 we can get 15 days in the Foley stage instead of 5. We could also get a few licensed songs in the film, and most importantly the quality of our CGI team will increase dramatically for every penny that you contribute.
We also have some plans that will hope everyone will find exciting once we get closer to our goal!

You shot it in Russia...Is the film in English?
HARDCORE is 90% in English, with a 10% splash of Russian Flavoring.
Am I going to get motion sickness watching this?
We did HUNDREDS of tests for stabilization using our Go-Pro rigs. HARDCORE gently eases the audience into the POV style at the start of the film. The teaser scene you saw is from the second half of the movie, so by the time the frantic scenes come on, the viewer has been comfortably 'living' in the shooting style for some time.
How intense is the film?
It hasn't been rated yet, but it was shot with an "R" rating in mind, and we didn't pull any punches concerning the violence.
Is this going to be in Cinema or Digital Distribution?
Both! We plan on having a release date of 2015 with a running time of around 105 minutes. The digital Downloads will be available after the Cinematic Release.
Is this a War movie? Why is Sharlto in Military Gear and the Protagonist is in Jeans/Sneakers?
No this isn't a war film, it's a sci-fi Action film that takes place in Moscow Russia in the year 2015. There is a very good reason for the costumes to be what they are, however it's difficult to explain without entering spoiler territory.
That wasn't much of a Trailer!
No it wasn't! That's because it's a "First Look" or a "Teaser", we will be doing a full Official trailer once we are closer to being done with the film. That's why we need you!
