Short Summary
After another failed 'situationship', Lora and Hannah head down a dark path of hypothetical revenge possibilities against the men who have wronged them in this comedy short that focuses on the toxicity of the modern dating world. We see the effects of toxic behaviors and emotional unavailability through the female experience that lends to the stereotypes of women being described as 'crazy' and 'psycho'. But we are left wondering, was it all hypothetical after all?

Lights, Camera, Action! Productions and the BBC

Allow us to present Lights, Camera, Action! Productions—an all-female production company born from a chance encounter at University, which went on to develop into a supportive friendship. United by our shared creative passions, we embarked on an exhilarating journey to establish our very own film production company in the North-West of England.
At LCA Productions, we take immense pride in meticulously crafting and directing our own distinct scripts, all whilst nurturing and providing artistic pathways for budding young talents in our region. Our unwavering mission revolves around creating films that authentically portray women and the working-class, while simultaneously paving the way for promising young creatives to flourish and showcase their brilliance on the cinematic stage. Despite only being active for a relevantly short time, LCA has already built an impressive portfolio, including notable works such as 'Little Riots' for BBC Cenntinal, which can be enjoyed on the BBC website.

The Impact
Making this film will have numerous benefits for the professional development of our core team, as upon completion, each member will then have a professional standard short film in their creative portfolio. After completing this film, we will then dedicate our focus to distribution and promotion through traditional channels and online platforms. We will engage with audiences, industry professionals and critics to generate buzz around our short film and film production company.
One of our primary aims is the creation of meaningful and impactful films that tackle diverse, inclusive, and thought-provoking subject matters. As a production company we already have several original script ideas for future projects that we are passionate about sharing, supporting in establishing ourselves as prominent voices within the film industry, and providing paid employment for future creatives, especially groups that are under-represented. Examples include those living with chronic health issues and disabilities, LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse, and those from lower social economic backgrounds, as we believe the creative industries should be accessible to all.
Proposed Filming
Depending on confirmed funding, production dates and duration may vary. As a production company who have created several short films, we have developed the skills to work effectively and efficiently. For this project, we intend for pre-production to take place between July to November so that we have time to hold auditions and create schedules, with filming expected to start at the beginning of February, lasting for 1 week. Post-production will take 2 months, working alongside a music composer, to have the final edit ready for film festival submission in April and May.
Filming Benefits
Filming in Liverpool will generate economic benefits for the region as the production will spend money on accommodations, catering, and transportation, as well as creating employment opportunities for local talent, including actors, crew members, and support staff. This is something we are very passionate about as working-class artists, those of lower social economic backgrounds. As our narrative references and features a variety of Liverpool’s iconic landmarks and architecture, this acts as promotional material for the city and cultural identity of Liverpool, whilst offering local residents a chance to see their home city represented on screen. Although many productions have recently been filmed on location in Liverpool, bringing awareness to the city, many of these productions do not actually take place in Liverpool. Both members of Lights, Camera, Action! Productions Ltd attended University in Liverpool and have grown a great fondness for the city. Here, we were able to grow as individuals and as artists and in many ways this production is a love letter to our shared experiences whilst living here. Liverpool has given so much to us and we wish to return this back to the city and provide opportunity. Many creatives feel a need to move away from the North in order to find work and we wish to be able to change this misconception by filming projects in the North.
