Short Summary
Thanks for finding my campaign page! I am an independent singer/songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia, and have just finished writing and recording my debut full length album titled "The Ghosts Of". This album consists of songs that touch on very personal experiences, stories, and feelings, particularly my own lifelong battle with personal demons and struggles in which I have overcome through the therapeutic process of songwriting. I have started this campaign to help alleviate some of the upfront costs of releasing an album independently. I am not asking for a free ride, I am offering pre-sales of the album on CD and vinyl for a one-time-only discounted rate to help fund the costs of manufacturing the CDs and vinyls.
I look forward to releasing my album to the world and cannot thank you enough for visiting my page and taking the time to read this! Any contribution, great or small, is deeply appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
What We Need
It's no secret that creating and releasing music independently is a costly ordeal, with numerous upfront costs and overheads, often with little to no immediate return. This is again exacerbated by the fact that a career in music requires these massive investments to gain any traction and develop.
Here is a complete break-down of the upfront costs of finishing and printing this album that allow it to come into existence:
- Mastering for digital, CD, and vinyl = $1,100
- Digital distribution fees (Spotify, iTunes, etc) for a single plus the album = $185
- CD printing and manufacturing = $1,336.50
- Vinyl pressing and manufacturing = $3,355
TOTAL = $5,976.50
Not to mention any amount of money imaginable for marketing and PR!
What You Get
I've made a list of amounts you can contribute to the project, ranging from a $5 donation, to a $25 discounted vinyl, all the way to a $1,000 home gig! Many high-fives and handshakes are available to those who wish to simply donate (see our Donations packages).
Other Ways You Can Help
If you are unable to contribute financially, that's totally fine! You can still help by spreading the word - simply sharing this campaign page and "liking" and tagging my Facebook page www.facebook.com/LRMarshOfficial would do wonders for this project, and I can't thank you enough for your help!
