So What The Heck Is Going On Here?

Well, a few weeks back I dug out an old recording I made when I was around 12 years old. I'm not going to lie to ya--it was pretty bad! But then the idea came to me to re-record some of the songs on there to see just how much I have grown as a songwriter over the past 30+ years.

My name is Rob, and I am a life-long songwriter. I wrote my first song (about my dog Ralph) no more than five minutes after picking up my first guitar. I have written and recorded hundreds of songs, and I can't think of anything (well nearly anything) as pleasurable as helping to bring a new song into the world.

I started recording myself way back in the late '70s, before I even knew that you actually had to work out a song BEFORE you pressed record on the tape deck! The result of that is plainly evident in the samples you heard in the video. I have recorded at home on everything from 8-track to digital, but I have never been able to scrape the funds together to take my songs to a real studio and see just how good they can be. That is where you come in.

So What The Heck Do You Need Me For?

As you probably know, studio time can get expensive. I would use every penny of the funds gathered from my indiegogo campaign to pay for the time spent in the recording studio, as well as the musicians I would need to get this project completed. Ultimately, if I meet my funding goal, I would love to release a two-disc set featuring the original 1979 recordings from the 8-track, plus some new versions of those songs, and then a few more recent ones as well on the second disc. But all of that costs money!

As a struggling songwriter (and former elementary school teacher), money has never been easy to come by. Until the last couple years, I never even would have thought to take my songs into the studio, even if I had been able to afford it.

Nevertheless, I finally feel like I have some songs worthy of being heard by the general public, and now I need your help to make that happen!

So What The Heck Do I Get Out Of This?

Clearly, I can't do this without you. If you take a look to the right, I am offering some great perks to reward you for helping me get into the studio to record my songs and get them out there to be heard by as many people as possible. And if nothing else, you will know that you helped an artist who has been plugging away diligently at his craft for over three decades finally achieve his dream of seeing his work sitting on the shelf of a record store next to so many others who have hoped for and achieved the same thing.

Thanks for taking time to read this and consider my proposal. Just knowing you considered helping me out is payment enough, but some cash might be nice as well! In return I promise to pour my heart out into my work, and record some songs for you that will make both of us proud!
