HUMBLEOP.COM : This Is How We Poll
We need your help to launch HUMBLEOP.COM, the dynamic, grassroots, visually-appealing, addictive social media website for opinions, debates and polls. Humbleop.com features subscriber-driven content with snap-polling as the central feature. Poll your friends: Glasses or no glasses for my date tonight? This leather sofa or this plaid couch for our den? The Leafs or the Bruins going to win?
OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to promote HumbleOp.com as the best virtual forum for opinion on the internet by generating constant traffic and assisting subscribers in community building. The interactive design is positively addictive because after you post your provocative opinion in our forums, you'll attract members from the humbleop community who can "reply", "deny" or "testify" to your opinion. See how many "humble admirers" your opinons earn you.
CONCEPT:
The concept is similar to the newsfeed design of Twitter and Facebook, but is comprised of opinions and a gaming element for building communities of like-minded humble admirers. Humbleops can be posted in the HumbleOp.com trademarked format in a variety of forums chosen by the subscriber.
APPLICATIONS:
Grassroots organizations are able to seek opinions from their membership: Ex: A school could instantly survey parents on whether or not to implement uniforms OR what meal to serve on hot lunch day. Businesses, promoters and marketers can assess public opinion by posting snap polls or presenting product choices. Individuals can ask friends or colleagues to weigh in on a choice that needs to be made instantly.

PHASE 1 Snap-Polls
In my HumbleOp space tourism will grow faster than the internet.
In my HumbleOp CK Louis is funnier than George Carlin was.
In my HumbleOp chocolate cupcakes are tastier than candy bars.
In my HumbleOp laughter is better for your health than exercise.
PHASE 2 Blogs
In my humbleop, dandelions are better than roses.
When I asked my local florist if she had bouquets of dandelions, she looked disappointed…disappointed that she hadn’t invested in a security guard.
They’re weeds. I get it. But who decided to categorize these little pots of gold as undesirable?
If you ask a kid which flower represents pure love s/he is likely to overlook the celebrated rose for the humble dandelion. Faced with harvests of yellow blossoms, children can’t resist; they pick dandelions for teachers, make crowns for their friends and poke the buds through their tiny button holes oblivious to the stains that ensue.
I know I melt into a puddle every time my little boy presents me with a fistful of crumpled dandelions in his sweaty hand. When my big, hairy husband tries to do the same, I give him that ‘nice-try’ look that compels him to run, fast, and buy me chocolate.
So why discriminate against dandelions? Hath not a dandelion a blossom? Hath not a dandelion leaves and a stem? Fed with the same soil, hurt with the same hoes, warmed by the same summer sun, as other flowers? If you cut one, does it not bleed? ...milk?
The natural world doesn’t classify its bounty into good and bad, beautiful and not beautiful, worthy and unworthy. People do. People make these categories, denying some flowers their right to grow so that others can flourish.
And so it is with opinions. Intolerant of diversity, some people choose to discredit alternative ways of thinking by categorizing them as undesirable or not permissible. They silence those they oppose because they are incapable of respecting all viewpoints. Like the rose-worshippers, some people give credence only to opinions with commercial value.
Not so at HumbleOp.com. In this respectful and spirited forum, your opinion may be disputed, but your voice will be heard. This grassroots space is dedicated to the right to expression. Like the humble dandelion, members of our community have perseverance in the drive for recognition of other ways of thinking.
Rather than poison gardens and hack with spades like the dandelion-haters, let’s make vibrant bouquets. Let’s allow the wind to carry and scatter the seeds of alternative thinking so that a more beautiful world can grow.
Yah, I’ll say it. Koumbaya.
