Who is HHBS?
Helping Hands Bring Sunshine, a private 501 (c)(3) organization, is dedicated to improving the lives of those living in Croix de Bouquets, Haiti, through community support, education, and nutrition.
- Fran Juste, a registered nurse originally from Haiti,
founded HHBS in 2008 after multiple natural disasters devastated Haiti
- HHBS has grown from a grass roots effort distributing basic necessities to hurricane victims in 2008, to rebuilding homes and schools destroyed in the earthquake of 2010, to our main focus today: supporting a school of 200+ students and faculty in the community of Croix de Bouquets
- Through generation donations, HHBS rebuilt Ecole Scolaire de la Primitive, a school destroyed by the 2010 earthquake, purchased desks and blackboards, provided the necessary school supplies for each student, and in 2013 launched a program that provides one hot meal and clean drinking water for each student every day
Hand-to-hand distribution is what sets HHBS apart
- Fran, the founder of HHBS, has a personal responsibility to make sure every donation is used to support the school
- Each year, a team of HHBS Ambassadors travel to Haiti with drums full of school supplies and basic necessities
- The items are hand delivered directly to the students and faculty
- Please watch our video above to see hand-to-hand distribution in action
-
HHBS knows this level of involvement and dedication is the best way to help Haiti
