My name is Henry. I moved to Indianapolis Indiana in '97. I met my Friend and mentor Andrew Caplinger...the owner of Caplinger's Fresh Catch Seafood Market...in late 2013. In March of 2016 me and my family moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma. Ardmore is located near the Oklahoma and Texas border. That's where the idea came that I should open a seafood restaurant like my friend and mentor Andrew. I began doing some some research on this kind of restaurant to see if there was anything like it in Ardmore and Oklahoma City. To my surprise there wasn't. With that said I started focusing more on Oklahoma City. I really believe that this business will thrive and be the beginning of something special. I'm going to bring the same concept Andrew has been using for his seafood restaurant and market, because it has proven to be a winning concept. His restaurant, Caplingers Fresh Catch Seafood Market has been voted #1 in the state of Indiana by Yelp and Movoto. Andrew Caplinger has just opened his third seafood market and restaurant since opening his first one three years ago. Now that should tell you something! Here's what we'll be selling; Seafood: Yellowfin Tuna, Walleye, Catfish, Ocean Perch, Basa, Flounder, Cod, Trout, Monkfish, Swordfish, Haddock, Red Snapper, Grouper, Salmon, Scallops, Shrimp, Lobster, Crab Legs, Blue Crab, Frog Legs, Crawfish, Fish & Chips Dinner, Fish Sandwiches.
Startup Costs: $155,000
Start-up expenses for Henry's Fresh Seafood Grill & Market include initial insurance premiums covering both general liability and product liability, as well as business renter's insurance, rent for three months and to allow for build-out of the retail space, pre-launch marketing to cover any advertisements in local papers, the development of a website, initial inventory, and the normal legal expenses for consultation and permitting.
Inventory on-hand at any given time must be low as all seafood must be kept extremely fresh and will be ordered on a daily basis. Other fixed assets include office and store furniture, shelving, a computer, phone system, and tools. Long-term assets include the kitchen equipment, walk-in cooler and freezer, display cases, and additional investments in improvements to the retail location.
A significant amount of cash is required to fund the first year of operations until the business reaches break-even.
Come on people join with me...let's bring this awesome and exciting concept to Oklahoma City. I promise to bring the best freshest seafood along with fresh ingredients, great flavor, and fresh produce.
The investment you make will contribute to a successful business. From the freshest seafood around to the classic, modern vibe. Henry's Fresh Seafood Grill & Market will be the kind of place you'll want to visit often, and a "must-have" for your visiting coworkers, friends and family.
